Some of the work that has gone in to 31459 as well as a power unit rebuild we have had to have made new roof hoops and new engine air intakes many other smaller jobs have also required attention exhaust stubs repaired one of the roofs has had 10 inches of new steel both sides

It's been a bit of hectic period and not had much time for a update
cl 20 has been spent time cobbling a set of lorry batteries so we could run oil pump and fuel pump etc fitting a new set of batteries next week and see if we can get it started
Cl 14 has also been seeing some attention with heat exchanger and coolant group being dismantled for inspection
Cl 25173 is having th cab interior roof panels replaced. With new /repaired items as well as reinstalling pipework
Cl 31459 pu has been started this week although the fuel rack needs setting up and tappets etc rechecking 2 new roof hoops have been made and a lot of holes cut out and replaced
last roof section craned off this week for 8 inches of new metal both sides and new air intakes to go in
37906 has had replacement nose doors and some nose frame repairs as well
A Dmu driving car has also arrived which was stored for 10 yrs at the NYMR we have managed to start 1 engine and take power
Various 08s are also seeing attention
And another 25 arrived in Nov currently in store awaiting some time to have a proper look

A bit of a round up. A couple of days on 37906 getting the. Cabside finished new batterys fitted and run up
31459 power unit is mostly back together 9 replacement liners,15 valve guides all pistons machined new rings overhauled fuel pumps and injectors both turbo were in a bad way with bent blades
Some bodywork is being done with any holes cut out and new steel and patch paint
Work also continues on the 20 with anti freeze and oil being pumped in
Various 08s are also being worked on
And the next project after the 31 has also arrived a cl14
The cl25 all body side and cab welding is finished with most of it in undercoat and some first coat gloss on cab fit out is also being worked on Al

A little recap on recent work class 31 pu has had all pistons and liners removed with 9 replacement liners needed and 1 piston all other pistons have been machined for new rings also one turbo was also seized all liners are back in and pistons have started to be refitted. Cl 20 has had roof replaced over electrical cubicle, bogies painted and most of the body has had first coat orange applied (top coat orange has been specially mixed to match original colour)bogies also painted and much time making sense of french wiring to make the headlights workone class 08 has had PU removed and sent away for rebuild and another 08 is in the process of cyl head replacement,new fuel pumps and , injectors the coupling rods removed for exam and repair and cab floor repairs
We have also been up the weardale rly for electrical repairs to31465 and also down to fawly hill for work on a class 03

At long last a successful test run with 33201 we stopped her last October for some body repairs and although we only tackled a small part it was far worse than we hopped the last few weeks have been electrically challenging with random shut down of the PU which turned out to be MW fault

A little round up as well as numerous shunters we have just about finished work on a cl 20 pu which should be refitted in the next 2 weeks and in our spare time work continues on 37906 overhaul of some more brake cyls and removal of one cab side ready for some new steel
