The above road closure has now been CANCELLED due to the emergency closure currently in place on Dolphin Street, Colyton.

We will now be serving Colyton tomorrow, however, will not be able to serve Umborne Bridge and Whitford stops.

Colyton Fire Station
Colyton Market Square

The Coly Road and South Street closure will now be rescheduled to a later date.

PLEASE BE ADVISED AFTER CONSULTATION WITH DEVON COUNTY COUNCIL THE ROAD CLOSURE BELOW WILL BE ON THURSDAY 13TH AUGUST 2026 DESPITE THE CLOSURE NOTICE SIGN IN COLYTON DISPLAYING 8TH AUGUST. THIS SIGN HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO 13TH AUGUST.

Please be advised that we will not be able to serve Colyton and Whitford on the above date due to a road closure that will be in place from the turning to Colyton on the A3052 right through to Colyton Town Centre.

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, however, it is only for the one day if you can kindly make a diary note that there will be no 885 buses in Colyton and Whitford on Thursday 13th August 2026.

CHILDREN TO TRAVEL FREE WITH AVMT BUSES IN AUGUST

We are pleased to be part of the Government's promotion this summer to allow all children between 5-15 years to travel FREE in August on all our public bus services.

There is a guideline in place to encourage children under the age of 12 to be accompanied by an adult so please don't let your children travel alone if under this age.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE
Clapps Lane, Beer
Wednesday 17th June to Tuesday 23rd June 2026
Affects: 899 services

Clapps Lane, Beer has been closed this morning. This means we will not be able to serve the bus stops around Underleys on our 899 services until the road re-opens.

The closure period has been set to 7 days, however, it may be sooner. As soon as the closure is lifted we will return to serve Underleys as normal.

This road closure mentioned in our previous post I'm pleased to say has been POSTPONED, however, it is likely to happen at a later date.

All 885 bus services through Colyton on Monday 15th June 2026 will now NOT be affected.

Coly Road and South Street, Colyton
Affects: 885 services

The main road from between Colyford and Colyton will be closed on Monday 15th June 2026 for the whole day. We do have special permission for the 885 school bus to proceed through as normal morning and afternoon but, unfortunately, that is the only bus we are being allowed to send through. Regrettably this means we will be unable to serve Colyton and Whitford for the whole day on all the public services.

The following bus stops will not be served on Monday 15th June 2026 (except 885 school service):-

Coly Vale
Colyton Fire Station
Colyton Market Square
Umborne Bridge
Whitford

The nearest bus stop for anyone in Colyton wishing to use the 885 services on Monday 15th June 2026 will be Wheelwright, Colyford.

Thankfully, this will just be for one day! All being well, we should be back to normal on Tuesday 16th June 2026.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience this will cause.

Monday 8th June to Friday 12th June 2026: 09:30-15:30 Each Day
Seaton to Beer B3174
Beer Road and New Road

Affects: 885 and 899 services

The main road from Seaton to Beer will be closed Monday to Friday next week between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 each day. As a result of this closure we will not be able to operate the 885 services between Beer and Seaton during these times.

The only 885 services that will operate each day between Seaton and Beer Monday to Friday next week are:-

07:40 885 Seaton to Beer Cross
07:50 885 Beer Cross to Seaton

16:55 885 Seaton to Beer Cross
17:05 885 Beer Cross to Seaton

17:55 885 Seaton to Beer Cross
18:05 885 Beer Cross to Seaton

The 899 services will operate as normal between Seaton and Beer throughout the day, however, we will be diverting from Seaton Sea Front up to the A3052 towards Sidmouth and turning left at Hangaman's Stone crossroads down Court Barton Hill into Beer on the 899 services that fall in-between the road closure hours of 09:30 and 15:30. This diversion will be the same on return when travelling from Beer Cross to Seaton.

ROAD CLOSURE
BEER
From Friday 10th April 2026

Affects: 885 and 899 services

We will be unable to serve Beer Cross or Underleys until the road re-opens. Closure is between Causeway and Beer Cross.

We will serve BEER COACH PARK on both services at the same timings as Beer Cross would be. This will be the only pick up point in Beer we can use on both 885 and 899 services as a result of the closure.

We have received no advance notice of this closure and further apologise for the inconvenience.

ROAD CLOSURE
Lyme Street, Axminster
Monday 30th March to Thursday 2nd April 2026

Affects: 885 Services

Due to the above road closure our 885 services will be terminating at and starting from Axminster Rail Station for the duration of this closure.

We will not be serving the bus stops at Axminster Trinity Square, Axminster Hospital and all Millwey bus stops.

This decision has been taken due to the severe impact it would have on our times on the return from Millwey with the diversion route in place and congestion the road closure will cause. As the 885 service is an hourly service we would lose too much time to be able to operate this service to its timetable.

ROAD CLOSURE
South Street, Colyton

From 09:00am on Wednesday 18th March 2026

An emergency road closure has been set up on South Street, Colyton this morning between the junctions of Govers Meadow and Grove Hill. Unfortunately we will not be able to access Market Square, Colyton for the duration of the closure. We will, however, be able to serve the stops at Colyton Fire Station and Umborne Bridge as normal.
