🐂 Bull Stud Worker - Wanted – Cumbria 🐂

Scawfell Genetics Ltd are looking for a Livestock Person / Bull Stud Worker to join our team at our bull stud near Gosforth / Seascale, Cumbria.

This is a hands-on role working with pedigree beef and dairy bulls, assisting with daily bull management and semen collection.

Main duties include:
• Feeding and bedding bulls
• Safe handling of mature bulls
• Assisting with semen collection
• General livestock and yard duties

We are looking for someone who:
✔ Has good stockmanship and cattle handling experience
✔ Can work on their own initiative
✔ Is practical, reliable and hardworking

Previous bull stud or AI experience not essential, as training can be provided.

This role would suit someone currently working on a beef or dairy farm who wants to gain experience in the cattle genetics industry.

📍 Location: Bridge Petton, Gosforth, Seascale, Cumbria
💼 Full time – permanent (self-employed option may be considered)
💰 Competitive pay depending on experience

The position is based at Bridge Petton, Gosforth, Seascale, Cumbria CA20 1HT.

We require an individual that can work well on their own initiative, main tasks to include feeding, bedding bulls and bull semen collections.

Job Title: Self-Employed Cattle AI Technician – Cumbria

Job Description:
We’re on the lookout for a self-employed AI Technician to support farmers across Cumbria with artificial insemination services and Liquid Nitrogen tank top ups. If you’re skilled in heat detection, semen handling, Liquid Nitrogen handling and AI techniques, we’d love to hear from you!

What We’re Looking For:
• AI Technician (or hands-on experience)
• Ability to top up on farm flasks with Liquid Nitrogen on a set route.
• Good record-keeping and communication skills
• Willingness to travel across Cumbria as needed.
