Great morning taking Gordon, his mates, their 5 bikes and all their kit from Cumbernauld to Oban to catch the ferry to Barra. They’re off to start cycling the Hebridean way - what an adventure.

Looking forward to picking them up next week in Ullapool. Doubt they’ll be looking as fresh - but am sure they’ll have had great times 🚴 👍🏻👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

After the episode last week we had to repost this video of the in the highlands.

We were up there on the same day the were filming June 4th - albeit we were there early when it was still a bit wet 😂😂👍🏻 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We love when we end up at the Isle of Skye. The views are great. This is from a very remote part of the island at the ruins of Dunscaith Castle near Tokavaig 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

An amazing view - and all from the roadside.

The Glen Docherty Viewpoint near Achnasheen on the NC500 is spectacular. The photos and videos just don’t do it justice 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Did you know that Scotland had a potato famine in the mid 1840’s? It didn’t lead to as much emigration as was seen from Ireland as the government provided basic foods (such as oatmeal) to those affected if they worked 6 days a week, long gruelling hours, building this road (the A832).

One of many known as Destitution Road it ends (or starts depending on your perspective) at Gairloch and spans the width of Scotland. The building in the shot (Fainmore House) is at a particularly remote part and constructing it was part of the workload for those who found themselves destitute!

Interesting stuff!!

Took some awesome clients from Edinburgh to Ullapool to catch the ferry and they emailed ahead of time to ask if we could take them to see some Highland Cows on the way! As usual we were always happy to help 👍🏻👍🏻

We visited the amazing Robertsons Larder near Beauly in the Highlands where we met Jamie and Katie Morag who were playing up to the cameras and had a bit of an argument while we watched on 😂😂

Fun fact we learned at Robertsons was that most Highland Cows were black until Queen Victoria visited the highlands and preferred the red coats. From that point on breeders prioritised the red coats to gain the favour of the Queen! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Interesting stuff!!!!
