If I was to lead a retreat from Scratch today. This ⬆️ is what I’d do!

I wouldn’t waste time:

Asking friends who’d run a few retreats.

So many leaders have developed shocking habits.

My lovely friend Suzi Gibson - A Wee Retreat a Retreat Academy alumni, said recently in some surprise:

Retreats are a place to return home.

This is why we need them and the reason they’re the fastest growing area of the travel Industry: Because we don’t need more entertainment or distractions: We need safe spaces for our own reconnection.

We live in a world where we’re entertaining ourselves to death without finding the space and time for free thought.

Retreats are spaces for our own imaginations as well as a space for co- regulation.

So evolved Leaders will always be chosen over those who merely wish to be the organiser or entertainment department!

My mission is to support women to become the best leader for their community.

We do this within a retreat model:
A safe container.
A place we can inspire, learn and grow wiser to the new codes of purposeful leaders.

They focused on the retreat delivery, working tirelessly on ALL the details.

But leave the marketing as an afterthought.

When they launch the retreat, they rarely have a framework for targeting their audience enough to focus in and pinpoint exactly who needs the retreat and Why they do.

They’re focused on the goody bags ( contents are usually found in the bin at the end of the retreat!)

They’re obsessing about the itinerary.

What they need is a clear framework that actively EXCLUDES the wrong people!

Bet you haven’t heard that before!

Because your retreat becomes celebrated when the people there are enjoying what’s on offer!

The BIG blunt truth about selling out your retreats. ( For those who can hear it!)

Your clients need your wisdom, support and compassion.

Stop being a.
Retreat Martyr trying to give them the best retreat - you’ll end up gifting them STRESS!

You’ll give space for joy -the more you let go of worry.

Let go of controlling everyone
Quiet confidence speaks volumes.

People will complain about anything and everything when they feel an energetic chokehold.

Instead- Holding space for others is an art form you need to learn.

Your need to create the
“Perfect Retreat” is quietly killing the vibe.

From 20 years of watching thousands of leaders lose their s**t inside our 2 venues because they’re in fight or flight-tears and overloaded with pressure,

I want to reassure you there’s a softer way to run your retreats fully supported and encouraged to create profit!

Your own nervous system regulation is the’North Star 1 of your retreat. (NOT the goody bags!)

The more resourced you feel the more your energetics will flow around the retreat.

They believe they can do it all alone.

Here’s why?

They believe they can Wing it!

But

‘Winging it’ is not a recognised strategy to create meaningful profit!

I’ve watched this summer (and 19 others before this) talented retreat hosts leave between 2-10k on the table during their retreats!

Why?

Because they begin by thinking they’re perfectly capable of embarking on offering their retreat….without support!!

When the client objections start to flow, and they’re running out of time to sell the retreat because they lack a legitimate sales system.

Or when the chef asks question they’re unsure of how to answer.❓❓❓

They pull in their BF or PA or Mum to help to soothe their nervous system but can lose money- where the spaces are taken up by them.

Absolutely no successful entrepreneur, leader, or business owner ever starts an enterprise solo.

They enlist a coach or mentor.

But most business coaches are clueless as to the nuanced approach of selling a retreat.

So the style doesn’t resonate with retreatees.

It’s the reason I retrained as a mindset and business coach 6 years ago- to help specifically, retreat hosts.

I’m here on retreat at our second venue with a wonderful friend who jumped into a few years ago- and is currently ACEING her multiple retreats in the UK and abroad in her particular niche.

She’s profiting considerably from each retreat and fulfilling her dreams of travelling and living a freedom based life with her family!

Just checking in that you prioritised making a profit on your retreat.

Because I’ve seen so many folk through our venue this year who are leaving 2-5k on the table from not choosing the RIGHT kind of support before, during and after their retreat!

They start off thinking they need to do it all themselves, then hit client objections and get into overwhelm and pull into their retreat there BF, PA or even Mum - offering them free spaces to help soothe their frazzled nervous system.

Every successful business owner knows investing in the RIGHT support catapults your fledgling business into profit and even overflow!
