๐Ÿ“… Date: Friday 5th June LIMITED SPACES LEFT
๐Ÿ’บ Seat Price: ยฃ76.00 per person

Nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire, this magnificent stately home was built between 1607 and 1611 by Robert Cecil, chief minister to King James I, and has remained in the Cecil family ever since. The house is considered one of Englandโ€™s finest examples of Jacobean architecture.

๐ŸŒณ One of the most fascinating stories linked to Hatfield House is its connection to Queen Elizabeth I. Before becoming queen, Elizabeth spent much of her childhood at the Old Palace of Hatfield. Legend says she was sitting beneath the famous โ€œQueen Elizabeth Oakโ€ when she learned she had become Queen of England in 1558 ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒ

โœจ A guided tour through the lavish State Rooms feels like walking through a real-life period drama. Visitors can admire:

The spectacular Marble Hall
Intricately carved Jacobean staircases
Priceless tapestries and antique furniture
Historic treasures linked to Elizabeth I, including portraits, gloves, and even silk stockings believed to be among the first in England ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

๐ŸŽฅ Movie lovers may also recognise Hatfield House from famous productions including Batman, The Favourite, Sleepy Hollow, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and Bridgerton-style historical dramas! Its cinematic beauty has made it one of Britainโ€™s most sought-after filming locations.

Whether youโ€™re a lover of history, architecture, gardens, or royal heritage, Hatfield House promises a truly memorable day out filled with elegance, stories, and spectacular scenery ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŒบ

๐Ÿšจ BREAKING NEWS ๐Ÿšจ

As many of you wanted to visit the British Museum to see the Bayeux Tapestry, prices have now been released, although bookings do not open until 1st July. Great Days Out will be taking you there on Wednesday 14th October for this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition โœจ

One of the wonders of the medieval world, the Bayeux Tapestry tells the dramatic story of a moment that changed England forever. From castles and ships to warfare, clothing, food and daily life, it offers a remarkable glimpse into 11th-century England and remains one of the worldโ€™s most treasured historical artworks.
