Anne Marie has had a few home ports and countries. She was built in Cers, France and her first known home was north west France somewhere near Saint Nazaire. She was sold in 1996 to a German man who registered her in Stuttgart, Germany although she roamed the Caribbean. She seemed to have spent much time in Grenada. In 2005 she was bought to UK and kept at Rye, East Sussex until September 2022....

Anne Marie arrived in Uk from Granada in 2005 after being damaged in Hurricane Ivan in September 2004. She has been at Moon Marine in Rye, Sussex since then without being sailed at all. In 2007 or thereabouts she was craned out for repairs and we bought her in spring 2015. She was totally rotten and required a total rebuild (www.savingannemarie.com).
All being well and a fair breeze Anne Marie will take her first sail for a couple of hours TOMORROW!

Well I wasn't expecting my first post for a year to be this...... When we bought Anne Marie she was high and dry in the boatyard with a broken rudder. The shaft had been bent and the yard owner and sliced through the shaft with an angle grinder. We were told that the rudder had come out of its lower pintle due to constant grounding in the mud berth....

When we bought Anne Marie she had a complete set of sails. The we discovered they had been stored above the chain locker which was full of water. This is what they looked like after I had spent days cleaning them with Oxalyc acid.
We bought a new set from Moatt Sails in Portland.
