IN RESPONSE…..
This page was setup to highlight the company and the work it does. Mainly for new and old clients.
This page is not part of the growing trend of social media truck-toc and online FB toxicity regarding the transport industry.
I have no idea why the algorithm sent my post far and wide, this was not my intention. I was just having a bad week and a vent.
While I thank you for the support of following me, and the likes, it’s not for negativity and negative comments, or trying to catch me out.
I run the company 💯% fully complaint, cutting no corners. It’s only too evident on FB the consequences if you do.
Iv just spent 2 full days in the workshop, working alongside my fitter, on PMI’s. Removing warn parts, fully servicing every fluid and filter, as it does every 30,000km. Excessive you may say. The truck is a rare low ride 6x2 from Iveco. 460bhp from a 11ltr. I believe maintenance should be preventive, rather than reactive.
The truck travels anywhere in the EU. Yes breakdowns occur, but preventing a major breakdown can be done in the workshop with regular service intervals. Many an argument with dealers tell me the oil is good for 100,000km. Not when the truck has been working at full weight, or in Italian 43deg heat climbing the alps.
Oil goes off, it’s also full of carbon deposits which in my opinion will damage the engine long term. Regular flushing keeps the engine fresh. It’s the main powerhouse and it needs looking after.
I used to own two trucks, as you can see, Iv also owned a DAF. For all the negativity regarding Iveco, on my spreadsheet the figures don’t lie, it’s the cheapest truck to run Iv owned by a long shot. And when dealing with Guest dealerships, the parts service has been excellent.
The Merc 480 13ltr was a brilliant truck, you could literally throw anything at it. The torque was stunning! However, service, parts and diagnostics were a pain, and the costs were off the charts. I sold it as it needed an expensive repair (ABS module, £2.5k,+£1k fitting) which was a repair too far in this current economic environment.
So I’m down to my trusty old Iveco, which I love driving.
Many people, espouse the virtues of Cummins, CAT, Scania engines. No one talks about Magirus Engines (the 520 17ltr Eurostar was a monster!) these engines are tried and tested. They also make the best air cooled engines. I had a 30yr old blower trailer with a Magirus engine, just kept on working, day in day out.
Any further negativity will be removed and blocked.
