After a very long traffic and accident ( not with us ) filled journey our newest sports team Liverpool Basketball arrived at their hotel later than planned last night in Guildford for tonight’s match vs Surrey 89ers , bit of down time today and meeetings and massages before we set off to the venue , good luck to our team and as always it’s a pleasure having you on board and thank you for choosing Anthony’s Travel to be your travel provider for the upcoming season , safe journey to all ❤️🏀🚌

🚌 COACHES IN PARLIAMENT! 🇬🇧

Next Tuesday, 13th October, the UK coach industry will be the subject of a dedicated parliamentary debate for the first time in many years.

A fantastic opportunity to highlight the vital role coaches play in our communities, from school transport and tourism to employment, social inclusion and supporting local businesses.

👏 Credit to Ferdy Willans and the team at RHA Coaches for helping get this off the ground, alongside Alex Mayer MP, who secured the debate.

And here’s the important bit!

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a member of RHA Coaches, UK Coach /CPT or no trade association at all.

If you’re a coach operator, get in touch with your local MP and ask them to attend.

This isn’t about trade associations or who gets the credit. It’s about an industry that deserves to be heard.

At Anthony’s Travel, we’ve always believed in speaking up for ourselves and building relationships with those who represent our communities.

We won’t change everything overnight, but doing nothing certainly won’t change anything!

Different operators, different associations, but ultimately we’re all in the same industry. 🚌🇬🇧

A busy start to Thursday morning, supporting business here in Halton! ☕🚌

Great to attend the BIG On Logistics & Manufacturing Network at the DCBL Stadium in Widnes this morning.

Really pleased to see Tara Rhodes representing the Road Haulage Association (RHA), talking about their Wellbeing Charter and the Million Positive Moments campaign.

I originally helped bring the RHA into these local business networks, so it’s lovely to see that relationship growing and delivering something worthwhile.

Also great to hear from fellow Halton Chamber board member Robin Tudor, Communications Director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with an update on the airport’s continued growth. ✈️

As a local family business, we’ve always believed in supporting our community, and that includes supporting other businesses.

It’s amazing what can happen when people get together, share ideas and make connections.

Halton has some fantastic businesses and organisations, and the more we work together, the stronger our borough becomes.

A worthwhile morning and another reminder that sometimes the most valuable thing you can do in business is simply get out, meet people and get involved!

Today in Birmingham for the Women in Bus and Coach Annual Summit, alongside my good friend Mark Carver of Carvers Coaches.

Laura Hadzik is Chair of Women in Bus and Coach, so we’re here not only to support the wider bus and coach industry, but also to support Laura and the fantastic work she and the team are doing.

The theme today is Workforce of Tomorrow — and if our industry is going to attract the people it needs for the future, then it has to be an industry where everyone can see opportunities for themselves.

At Anthony’s Travel we’re fortunate to already have some fantastic women playing a huge part in our business — Faye, Gayle, Dawn and, of course, my mum Anne, who remains a partner in the business.

They’ve all contributed in different ways to making Anthony’s what it is today.

Plenty to listen to, plenty to learn and always good to catch up with friends from across the industry.

And yes… Mark and I are behaving ourselves! 😂
