Our annual family pilgrimage to St Catherine’s ❤️
This place holds so many childhood memories for me - walking here from my Nan’s house through Unstead Woods, scrambling up the orange sandy hill and adventuring along the River Wey with my cousins.
Years later, we began bringing our own children. Seventeen years on, it has become a family tradition - come rain or shine, with partners and new additions joining us along the way.
Of course, no visit is complete without the annual photograph of the youngsters on the bridge. They require slightly more enthusiastic encouragement these days - otherwise known as nagging - but we always get the photograph! 😂
As my walking has become more challenging, the way I reach St Catherine’s has changed. This was Bumblebee’s second visit, and it turns out the riverside path is surprisingly accessible.
The way I take part may have changed, but I am still part of the adventure - surrounded by people who simply help me find another way. 💚
