Swain Group Unveils New Name for Express Freight Services Brand

Swain Group is proud to announce a significant step in its ongoing journey to streamline and enhance its operations by rebranding the renowned Express Freight Services. This strategic move is part of a broader initiative aimed at creating a more cohesive and unified brand identity across the Group's diverse operations.

Express Freight Services, a respected UK-based container haulier, has been a trusted name in the industry for over 45 years. Acquired by Swain Group in 2018, it has built a strong reputation for reliability and efficiency. The decision to rename this well-established brand reflects Swain Group’s commitment to aligning its various divisions under a single, recognisable brand family, which will strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving container shipping industry.

Commenting on the rebranding, Matthew Deer, Managing Director of Swain Group, said: “The renaming of Express Freight Services is not just about a new name, but about unifying our operations under a single, strong brand that represents the values and quality our customers expect. This change marks a significant milestone in our strategy to enhance brand recognition and ensure that our customers can easily connect with the comprehensive services we offer across all our divisions.”

In conjunction with this rebranding effort, Swain Group is also expanding its operational footprint. In addition to its established depots at London Gateway, Felixstowe, and Tilbury, the Group is set to significantly enhance its presence in the Southeast and along the South Coast with a new depot in Southampton, scheduled to go live in September 2024.

Since the 1920s the Swain fleet has traditionally been placed in formation for the Xmas break. This year the weather has not been kind to us at or Manchester and Woodville depots, so please forgive the fog!!.

CALLING ALL CLASS 1 LGV DRIVERS!

Permanent Role

We are looking for committed and reliable Class 1 Lorry Loader Crane (HIAB) driver/operators to join our team working in Horley, Surrey.

Overview

Swain Group is one of the UK’s most prominent logistics service providers with unique specialisms across a variety of sectors including construction, energy, industrial, retail, government, defence and events, providing the highest level of training to our employees through our approved training centres.

Gatwick Group is part of Swain Group’s Special Projects Division, providing C&U, Lorry Loader Crane (HIAB) and specialist lifting and moving services within the Aerospace, Construction, Rail and Highways industry. As with the nature of the work, you will be required to drive a selection of Class 2 rigid Lorry Loader Crane vehicles with drag trailer and Class 1 with a mixture of trailers including Plant, Flats and Rear-steer Extendable. This may include wide-load movements as well as long distance driving and time critical airside and rail-side deliveries.

As a leading haulier in the UK, working to the highest compliance standards we are proud to be FORS Gold and ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 accredited.

Experience & Qualifications
• Must have a valid, in-date CPC licence and Digi-card
• 3 years minimum Class 1 experience
• 5 year employment record
• CPCS (ALLMI) qualified – Lorry Loader Crane
• CPCS (ALLMI) qualified – Slinger/Signaller
• Willing and available to work flexible hours
• Ability to work well under pressure as part of a team and also individually
• Experience on Flatbed work
• Enthusiastic and reliable, willing to go the extra mile for customer service
• Adhere and promote Health & Safety values

Pay and Benefits
• Typical weekly earnings between £750 and £1,000 a week
• Monday to Friday with some weekend work
• Overtime hours available
• Tramping and nights out available
