Afternoon world 🌍

Time for a bit of work/life balance 😎

I’m off on holiday with the family for a little bit, so the truck keys are staying put and it’s time to switch off and recharge.

The workshop again at the weekend but for once, I wasn’t working on the truck and it was an easier job 😂

The Ranger was starting to feel a bit neglected, so I fitted a new rear bumper and made a start on tidying her up.

Unfortunately, this is all part of the plan to get her ready to go up for sale. 🚙

So, anyone out there looking for a really good Ford Ranger? 👀

Might be time for someone else to enjoy her!

Morning world! 🌍

Spent Sunday in the workshop again, just tinkering, cleaning and generally making a nuisance of myself… although I nearly shot myself in the foot this time! 😂

I decided to take the exhaust guards off to give everything a proper clean and replace a few rusty bolts.

Should’ve known it wasn’t going to be a five-minute job!

Once I got the guard off, I found the bracket that holds the exhaust side guard was completely rotted out. In fact, it literally fell apart as I took it off. 🤦‍♂️

So, rather than just putting it back together and hoping for the best, out came the tools. I fabricated a new bracket from stainless steel, cleaned everything up and got the guard all back together.

A little bit more work than I had planned for a Sunday afternoon, but at least it’s now better than it was.

I’m sure this won’t be the last bit of corrosion I find either… I suspect there’s plenty more waiting for me! 😂

Morning world! 🌍

While I’m currently looking out of the delivery point in Leicester wondering how the hell I’m ever getting back out of here 😂, I’ve been looking at a few things on the MAN and could do with some advice from the MAN drivers amongst you.

Has anyone changed the radio in one of these?

The one in mine is next to useless, so I’m thinking about upgrading it to something a bit more useful - decent Bluetooth, sat nav etc.

I’m guessing I’ll need a fascia kit and steering wheel control adapter as well.

So, if you’ve upgraded yours, what did you fit and where did you get the radio/fascia kit from?

Any recommendations, tips or things to avoid would be much appreciated. 👍

Set off for Durham early this morning.

Another one of those jobs where you leave home in the dark and wonder where the day’s gone by the time you finish! 😂

The MAN out on container work today 🚛

Quiet roads, plenty of lights and a few other night-shift warriors keeping things moving.

Nothing particularly exciting to report — just another shift doing what we do. Did find the rain which was a little annoying. Have to do a clean up when we get parked.

A very productive Saturday on the MAN! 🚛

Started off with the usual 6-weekly inspection on the trailer, then got stuck into removing all of the rear wheel arches, wingtops and light clusters. While everything was off, I gave the wing stays a bit of a tidy-up too before refitting all the new wings and arches.

Then it was time for the cab… and that’s where Dan from Immortal Detailing came in and worked his magic! 🧽✨

Inside and out, the cab got a proper going-over and, I’ve got to say, she’s come up pretty good!

You might not be able to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, as they say, but it's a much nicer place to be sitting in now, and man, she’s got some sparkle! ✨

A massive thanks to Dan at Immortal Detailing for coming out at such short notice and giving the MAN some much-needed TLC.

And another big thank you to James JJ Tools for the massive discounts on the tools that have helped me get all these jobs done.

So we've started and slowly but surely, we’ll get there with this one. 💚
