LGV CLASS 1 DRIVER VACANCIES

Pulleyn Transport, part of the Cube Cold Group based in Reading, currently has two vacancies for LGV Class 1 drivers.

Ideal candidates should have experience in transporting temperature-controlled products and a solid understanding of the UK road network. They must be capable of planning and working independently, effectively managing their administrative duties and proof of delivery documentation.

PULLEYN TRANSPORT INVESTS MULTI-MILLIONS IN STATE-OF-THE-ART STORAGE FACILITY IN BERKSHIRE

Following its acquisition by CubeCold Group, Pulleyn Transport is expanding its operations with a new state-of-the-art facility located in Theale, Berkshire.

The new, high capacity, development will feature multi-temperature controlled storage from -30°C to +25°C. It is set to open in Q1 2026 and is strategically located with excellent communication links to the UK’s motorway network as well as southern ports and London Heathrow Airport’s cargo hub.

DRIVERS WANTED! (Strictly NO AGENCIES)

We have the following positions available for the right candidates:-

LGV1: Good sound knowledge of U.K. & Ireland road networks,
European driving would be of benefit. Must be prepared to spend time away from home.
Preferred experience:
- Refrigerated trailers/loading/securing loads/temperature monitoring.
- Ambient freight/tail lifts/ramp experience
- Good customer skills and able to work individually or part of a team.
Day Work: We also have contracts for day work that would suit local drivers starting Jan 2024.

LGV2: A good sound knowledge of the U.K. & European road networks with:
- Experience working with delicate equipment, safe loading skills and customer care.
- Attention to detail and able to work as part of a team or as an individual.
Must be prepared to spend time away from home.

These positions are full time and based in the Berkshire (UK) area (Reading). Monthly salary with paid nights away from base.

The first outdoor opera at Garsington since COVID and our first time back out transporting the Philharmonia Orchestra to the public, although the orchestra have been working hard all the way through with recordings and delivering online performances with a massive presence.

PULLEYN TRANSPORT IS INVITING APPLICATIONS FROM EXPERIENCED CLASS 2 ORCHESTRA / EVENT DRIVERS

Ideally applicants will live within a 60 mile radius of the Reading area, have held a Class 2 Licence for at least 5 years and be comfortable handling larger 26 ton rigids.
A clean Licence with a Valid Driver CPC card is essential and National & E.U. driving experience is critical.

Experience of working within an orchestra / event environment would be beneficial as the role will include day and night time work. Tour work will be double manned. The schedule for this position works around the commitments of the orchestra and will require weekends and unsociable hours. Driving time will be limited by the prevailing regulations.

The driver's role is to oversee load in and load outs, ensuring that musical instruments and concert equipment are loaded and unloaded in a safe and secure manner at all times and to assist the stage manager when required within the driver's regulated hours. The role involves overseas touring, UK concerts, recordings and special projects.

Please only apply if you are a professional driver, are able to spend time away from home, have the ability to organise yourself within a timely manner and can work extremely well as part of a team. It is essential that applicants understand the importance of maintaining the Pulleyn reputation and the role they play within this. They should be able to interact with colleagues of the orchestra with a high degree of professionalism and respect plus be well presented and clean.

This is a full time position with on the job training in the use of the vehicle and load.

The Pulleyn specialist transportation team has continued with the support of the Covid-19 effort and has worked tirelessly for the UK Bio Centre over the last week.

We've removed loads of laboratory furniture (using 3 trailer loads and 2x16 tonne Rigids) from PHE (Public Health England) in Harlow into the new laboratory on the 1st floor at the Milton Keynes site, ready for the re-adjustment of testing robots.

Time was of the essence as the last testing at Harlow was to cease on Friday evening so the team had Saturday and Sunday to relocate everything with the engineers.

Pulleyn has a reputation for taking care each step of the way and being reliable and trustworthy. This job was no exception and we completed the job a whole day early!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to the team: Ashley, Stewart, Sam, Ryan and Scott plus the engineers Pete & Andy. Brilliant job as always! The team enjoyed a well earned Nando's meal in a specially created covid-free room at Delta Hotels by Marriott Milton Keynes. Thank you to both!
