BAM Benton Park School Project

BAM Benton Park School Project BAM is building a £29m secondary school for 1,500 pupils, at Benton Park near Leeds Bradford airport.

The development comprises a new three storey teaching building with integral sports hall, sheltered secure courtyard and playing fields.

Chemplas have started the Eurobond Panels at BPS this week, quickly progressing around the Sports Hall elevations. This modern building is quickly taking shape. The existing school in the background is due to be demolished as part of the Phase 2 works being replaced by sports pitches and landscaping. We get a lot of compliments from the school, general public and local residents about the build. Both staff & students are exited about the development and cannot wait to enjoy their brand new facility.

delivered an inspiring presentation on mental health awareness within construction at BAM Construct UK 's Benton Park School Project yesterday and are implementing a new initiative GRK10@10 to encourage the site staff to be able to discuss matters and feel more comfortable in talking openly.

Already since the talks have started operatives have confided in their supervisors / managers on site so they do not keep any work or non work related stresses to themselves. GRK will be continuing the 10@10 throughout the project as well as on their other sites.

The approach aims to give employees a bit of time to switch off every once in a while. They will encourage site teams to take a minimum of ten minutes out at least once a month and all get involved talking about none work related topics. Things they enjoy doing out of work, things they look forward too and potentially any personal issues they may be suffering with.

We have also started work to the HV LV Substation⚠️this will supply the new school with power ⚡️ please be aware of this if you are visiting the school during the day as we are now working close to the school entrance. We avoid deliveries and heavy plant movement 🚜during the student's drop off and pick up times🚖🚌🚕🚍 but we have had a few parents dropping forgotten PE kits off and various visitors parking across the main gate making it difficult for us to get around🚗🚘 so we have left some cones out to highlight our movement area🚧 We will only be working in this area for a short period of time compared to the main project 📆Thank-you for your patience🚸
