For the past decade, I have promoted, grown, and run this company largely on my own, a true one woman band, supported along the way by grooms and staff past and present. Permanent Funeral Groom vacancy at Horse Drawn Carriages Northwest Limited
Tarleton area PR4

INTRODUCTION :
Horse Drawn Carriages travel around the country providing Horses and hearse carrying family loved ones to their final destination.
Assisting Funeral Directors and their staff.
Travelling to family homes, church’s , graveyards and crematoriums ensuring all is done with care, passion , dedication and professionalism.

THE POSITION:
Casual. Full/part
Various hours dependable on funeral times and bookings.
Could be 5am start or 9am start, therefore early or late finish ( not too many late finishes).
Travelling around the UK but mostly local.
Loading horses onto the lorry ensuring all safe.
Tacking up, turning horses out to Pristine standard. ( ability to plait would be a bonus, but not necessary).
Work closely with Funeral Directors.
Looking after the horses whilst stood, riding on the funeral hearse looking for hazardous objects .
Be the eyes at the back of my head.
Provide feed & water when finished.
Cool the horses off when hot.
Load up, travel home.

THE CANDIDATE:
Reliable, trustworthy, strong, honest & immaculate.
Over 17 years old.
Must have own vehicle.
No experience necessary as full training will be provided.
However, experience around horses is essential.
Full livery/uniform can be provided.
Show up on time with good communication skills.
7.5 tonne licence would be a bonus but also not essential.

Salary dependable on age and experience.

You will need to be flexible in your working hours and schedule, and to handle both emotional and physical demands.
