Have not posted for a while as we have been very busy. We are carrying out an electrical refit on the historic Steam Yacht Gondola owned and operated by the National Trust. Coniston Water is very special to my family for a number of reasons so very honoured to be carrying out this work. She will be cruising the lake soon so if you are coming to Coniston a trip on the Gondola is a must.

A flying visit literally, first flight out last flight back. Customer wants a Victron and Lithium installation in preparation for an Atlantic crossing this year.

Finished a very luxurious Wide Beam today with extra batteries and TV Antennas. It is going to used as an Airbnb in the very near future. Moored in the picturesque Glasson Dock Village so if anybody is interested please drop me a message.

No excuse to be late today 2.5 miles away, an Autopilot install at the Ribble Cruising Club yard and pontoons Lytham. This Jeanneau 32.2 is very well kitted out with new sails, lithium batteries etc, the owner is bringing her to the market very soon.

Last week, one of our boat-owners who was sailing back from the Isle Of Man alone in good weather at night, fell overboard while the boat sailed on, on autopilot.

She was in the water for over an hour.

Her life was saved because she was wearing a good life jacket - and had a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).

The PLB sent an electronic distress signal to the Coastguard, with her exact position. Otherwise she had no way of raising an alert and calling for help.

This is not an advert - this is just strong safety advice.

All of us going to sea should have a PLB with us.

We do have a small stock of the RESCUEME PLB-1.

They cost £249.95 (Yes we know the big online, south coast chandleries sell it cheaper but if you want to support your local NW chandleries that has to be the price....)
.... except....long term berth-holders at Preston Marina, who can buy it from us for £238.80...at which price we are not making a penny - but we would far rather keep our long-term berth-holders than make a few quid on a gadget.
