Sunset Chasers — Stop Five: Key West

Where every sunset feels like a celebration.

At the very end of the Florida Keys, Key West offers a wonderful mixture of tropical scenery, colourful history, great food and a character all of its own.

Drive across the incredible Overseas Highway, cycle past pastel-coloured conch houses, spend the day snorkelling above coral reefs and stop for fresh seafood followed by a slice of Key lime pie.

Then, as golden hour approaches, head to the waterfront or step aboard a traditional schooner and watch the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico.

Key West makes a fabulous standalone escape, but I especially love it as the final stop on a Florida road trip—somewhere to slow down, enjoy the atmosphere and finish the journey with one unforgettable sunset.
