We're thrilled to announce that Portico Port Services has been named a finalist in the Maritime Start Up of the Year category at the Maritime Solent Awards 2026, sponsored by Red Funnel 🏆

It's a proud moment for the whole team. Since launching in 2025, we've built a brand-new maritime operation from the ground up, creating jobs, developing our people, and delivering berthing, stevedoring and terminal services to customers right across the Solent.

This recognition belongs to the people behind it all. It's down to their hard work, professionalism and commitment to exceptional service that we've come this far in such a short space of time, and to be shortlisted alongside so many brilliant businesses driving our sector forward is a real honour.

A huge thank you to our customers, partners and colleagues for their support so far, and above all to our fantastic team.

We're proud to announce that Portico has received the Bronze Award from the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).🥉

The ERS recognises UK employers who support defence personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. Bronze marks the first step in that commitment, and it's one we're glad to have formalised.

We'll be listed as a bronze award holder on the Government ERS page (linked in comments below), and we're looking forward to connecting with other supportive employers to share ideas on how we can continue backing the Armed Forces community.

We are heading to Seatrade Cruise Med in a fortnight - so here is what Portico Port Services brings to a cruise call ⚓

🔹 Berthing support: more than 13,000 hours delivered in our first year at Portsmouth International Port
🔹 Gangway marshalling: supporting turnarounds for Saga Cruises' Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure, amongst others.

Today the Red Ensign flies for ⚓

On 3 September 1939, the SS Athenia became the first British merchant vessel lost in the Second World War. More than 20,000 merchant seafarers would follow. The date has marked Merchant Navy Day ever since.

Around 95% of what the UK consumes still arrives by sea and it still arrives because a crew brought it. Every vessel that comes alongside at Portsmouth carries people who have been away from home for weeks or months.

To every crew who has come alongside with us, and to everyone still at sea today we honour you, and we thank you.

This month, Portico Port Services heads to Las Palmas for our first Seatrade Cruise Med 🚢

Seatrade Cruise Med is where the Mediterranean's cruise industry gathers together cruise line executives, ports, destinations and suppliers at Europe's largest cruise terminal.

It’s our first time attending, and we’re going with a clear purpose - to introduce Portico Port Services to the wider cruise market, and to talk about what we do best, getting vessels alongside safely and looking after the people on board.

Last week, the Portico team completed a very special lift - craning a brand-new racing yacht into Portsmouth Harbour ahead of Clipper’s 2027-28 Round the World Race.

Clipper's Yacht Race is an extraordinary 40,000-mile round-the-world sailing challenge which gives amateur sailors the chance to race around the globe - starting and finishing right here in Portsmouth.

Ahead of the 2027–28 race, Clipper is replacing its entire fleet with twelve new yachts — and after a successful first lift, we're delighted they've chosen us to bring the remaining eleven into the water too. One down, eleven to go 🌊

The team heard about our transformation plans to encourage more trade, our sustainable ambitions, and the opportunities working in the ports industry.

It was great to show Lola Fadina and her team what happens in Portsmouth and the critical role the port plays locally, regionally and internationally.
