If you’re already thinking ahead to next winter, P&O Cruises have opened pre‑registration for their Winter 2028/29 programme, and there are a couple of things I want to highlight because I know they’ll matter to many of you.

Arcadia’s World Cruise is back, and it’s one I always recommend to travellers who want to see the world at a gentler pace. It’s a brilliant way to experience multiple continents without the stress of airports and constant repacking. And with Arcadia’s final ever cruise departing on 30 July 2029, this upcoming season feels like the right moment for anyone who’s been waiting for the perfect time to do a world voyage.

If you prefer something simpler, the Tenerife and Gran Canaria itineraries are ideal for reliable winter sun without long‑haul travel. They’re great for anyone who wants warm days, good food and a relaxed break with straightforward travel from Southampton.

Pre‑registration is open until 19 October at 8pm, and there will be a 10% deposit at launch, with offers available until 16 December 2026.

I’m heading off tomorrow on a 4‑night work trip to the adult‑only Rixos Sharm el Sheikh, and I can’t wait to experience it properly for you… even though I still haven’t packed.

This resort is perfect for adults looking for luxury and a bit of fun. It has beautiful beachfront views, multiple pools, stylish bars, a spa, fitness facilities, lively entertainment and even its own waterpark.

Food and drink are a huge part of the experience here, with 18 bars and restaurants offering everything from buffet dining to a choice of à la carte options across international cuisines. I’ll be tasting and exploring as much as I can so I can bring back honest, first‑hand feedback for you.

It’s also super easy to get to, with just a 20‑minute transfer from Sharm airport. And with temperatures sitting comfortably in the 30+ degrees range, I’m definitely not complaining.

Zoe Harmer arranged a trip for myself and partner to Sicily. It was a complicated trip with different start places but she arranged a great trip and was very accommodating when we frequently changed our mind.

Zoe came into her own when our flights were cancelled and changed on our way home due to ash cloud from mount Etna. She worked all day on and off on Saturday liaising with airlines and other companies to ensure we got home.

She also regularly checked in with us to make sure we knew what was going on and were ok. I can’t thank her enough.
