At Manfreight, we believe in going the extra mile - sometimes quite literally! This year, our dedicated relay teams laced up their running shoes to take part in the 2026 Belfast City Marathon, raising an incredible £4,560.14 for Autism NI.

This week, we were delighted to welcome Sorcha to our Belfast Chilled Facility, where we had the pleasure of presenting the cheque in person.

Every penny will go directly towards supporting the Autism NI Helpline - a crucial lifeline for families across Northern Ireland.

With 1 in 17 children now diagnosed with autism, demand for support has never been greater. Many families are facing long waiting times for diagnosis, currently averaging up to five years for children and six years for adults.

We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues who trained, persevered, and completed their marathon legs, as well as those who supported behind the scenes. Every step they took was in the spirit of community, compassion, and teamwork 🧡

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved - you’ve helped make a real difference in the lives of local families across Northern Ireland.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome some very special guests to the Manfreight Chilled Facility in the heart of Belfast Harbour.

A warm welcome and thank you to Christian Coolsaet, Managing Director of Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland. We were also pleased to be joined by Joe Ruddy from Volvo UK, Rob Ireland and John Jenkins from Dennison Commercials, as well as Paul Grant from Stena Line.

The visit provided a fantastic opportunity to showcase both the heritage and future of the Manfreight fleet. From some of our long-serving Volvo trucks to the latest additions this year, including the Volvo FH500 Aero, it was a proud moment to reflect on how our fleet has evolved over the years. We were also delighted to have several special anniversary vehicles on display, including the FH16 750 Gold Ailsa Edition.

A key part of the afternoon was sharing the Manfreight story - from one man, one truck and a big dream, to the business we are today and our vision for the future. Our guests also toured our industry-leading chilled facility and met some of the fantastic team at Manfreight.

At Manfreight, partnership is one of our core values. Our long-standing relationships with Volvo and Dennison Commercials have played a significant role in our journey and success. Built on trust, shared values and a commitment to excellence, these partnerships have helped us develop a fleet and operation that continues to set the standard within our industry. We are proud of what we have achieved together and excited about what the future holds.

The visit also gave us an opportunity to recognise Joe Ruddy as he prepares to retire at the end of the month. Joe has been a valued friend of Manfreight for many years, and we would like to sincerely thank him for his support, professionalism and contribution to the strong relationship between our businesses. On behalf of everyone at Manfreight, we wish Joe a long, happy and well-deserved retirement and every success for the future.

Thank you again to Christian, Joe, Rob, John, Paul and the wider teams at Volvo, Dennison Commercials and Stena Line for taking the time to visit. It was a fantastic day and a great reminder that strong partnerships, great people and shared ambitions are at the heart of everything we do.

We were delighted to support the 2026 GroceryAid Grocers’ Ball at Belfast’s iconic Culloden Estate & Spa.

In the lead-up to the event, Manfreight provided space within our chilled Belfast facility for the Grocers’ Ball hampers to be picked and packed before delivering them to the Culloden Hotel on Friday evening ahead of the Ball.

A special thank you goes to the fantastic team of volunteers who gave their time and energy to assemble the hampers, as well as our dedicated Manfreight warehouse staff who were on hand to support the operation and help ensure everything ran smoothly. Their teamwork, enthusiasm and hard work made a huge difference.

GroceryAid is a remarkable UK charity that provides emotional, practical and financial support to current and former employees across the grocery industry, including those working in supermarkets, wholesalers and manufacturing businesses. From crisis grants and debt advice to counselling and 24/7 emotional support, GroceryAid continues to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people throughout the industry.

Manfreight was proud to play a part in supporting this year's event and helping raise awareness for such an important cause. Congratulations to the Grocers’ Ball committee and everyone involved in organising a fantastic evening.
