If Montenegro isn't on your travel radar yet, it really should be! ☀️

Think crystal-clear Adriatic waters, mountain scenery, gorgeous little coastal towns and waterfront restaurants.

From the Bay of Kotor to the beaches of Budva, there's so much to explore in this little corner of Europe. I often recommend a twin-centre holiday here, combining a few days exploring the history of the Bay of Kotor with some downtime on the beaches of the Budva Riviera. The perfect mix of sightseeing and relaxation!

🎄 Christmas markets, mulled w**e and a little festive inspiration!

I'm currently planning a Christmas market city break for some clients, so I had to share a few just a few of the wonderful places to visit in the run-up to Christmas.

From traditional German Christmas markets to beautiful European cities filled with festive lights, there's something rather lovely about a city break at this time of year. ✨

🇧🇷 Brazil’s Green Coast – an incredible 12-night adventure!

I love a multi-centre itinerary that combines a little bit of everything, and this journey along Brazil’s beautiful Green Coast does just that.

🌴 4 nights in Rio de Janeiro – Take in the iconic sights, from Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain to the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.

🌿 4 nights in Paraty – Explore colourful colonial streets, discover the traditions of the local Caiçara community and enjoy the beautiful coastline.

🐒 4 nights in Ilha Grande – A tropical island paradise with rainforest trails, incredible wildlife, secluded beaches and crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkelling.

What I particularly like about this itinerary is that it's been developed with support from The Travel Foundation, bringing together some wonderful experiences that connect travellers with local communities, culture and nature.

And of course, this is just a starting point!

Where to look for affordable winter sun… beyond the Canaries ☀️✈️

If you're thinking about escaping the UK winter, it can be worth looking a little further afield.

The latest Post Office Winter Sun Report has compared what you'll actually spend once you're there – from coffees & cold beers to dinner for two – and there are some interesting destinations worth a closer look.

🌍 Cape Town, South Africa
Number one for value in this year's report. And Cape Town gives you so much more than just winter sunshine – beaches, incredible food and w**e, the Winelands, Table Mountain and some brilliant options for adding a safari for a longer South African itinerary.

🌴 Mombasa, Kenya
Second for value. Think warm Indian Ocean, palm-lined beaches and some good-value resort stays. It's also very easy to combine the coast with a few days on safari.

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka
Another destination where your money can go a long way. I love Sri Lanka for an itinerary rather than simply a fly-and-flop holiday, it has culture, wildlife, tea country, beautiful beaches and some gorgeous hotels.

🇹🇭 Phuket, Thailand
Still offering excellent value once you're there, particularly for eating out. You could stay put on the beach or use Phuket as part of a wider Thailand itinerary.

🌊 Morocco
For something closer to home, look at Agadir and Taghazout for sunshine, surf and some lovely hotels – or combine the coast with Marrakech.

🌴 The Gambia
Another one worth considering if the priority is warmth without travelling quite as far, some very competitively priced packages.

And there are plenty more. The Post Office's research is based on the cost of eight typical holiday purchases, rather than simply the cost of getting there.

Lake Garda just got closer for Summer 2027 ✈️🇮🇹

With new flights from Bournemouth to Verona, one of my favourite Italian destinations has just become even easier to reach from our local airport.

Lake Garda has been a really popular destinations for me over the last 12 months, and I've visited a couple of times over the years.

It has so many different sides to it, head north for dramatic mountain scenery, hiking, cycling and windsurfing, or south for the pretty lakeside towns, Gardaland, and train connections for easy days out to Verona, and even to Venice.

And with ferries connecting the towns around the lake, you can explore without necessarily needing a car. ⛴️

A few gorgeous hotels my clients have loved:

🌿 Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort, Riva del Garda, set in beautiful gardens, pools and a fabulous lakeside setting.

Ever wondered what a trip to Greenland might look like?

It’s not a destination I get asked about very often, and that is exactly why I wanted to share this reel from on her own journey which gives you a window into Greenland’s raw beauty.

Yes it’s hard to get to compared to Norway, yes it is remote and that is exactly why it feels special. Think ice-filled fjords, towering cliffs and quiet moments where you can properly switch off.
