Following an unprecedented number of youngsters (& others) expressing a wish to learn an instrument through our (Plymouth City) training band, we are running out of our supply and we definitely do not want to turn anyone away!
If you have an instrument that is no longer used, please consider giving, or loaning it to the band to prevent depriving a child the opportunity to learn.
Even better you could purchase an instrument (or part of one). Please message me directly if you can help in any way. Thanks

Plymouth City Brass have had a very busy year!
Having had a very successful rebranding concert to celebrate a change of name in September followed by an excellent contest result in October and then supporting the Plympton Remembrance Parade in November, we are back to one of our favourite occasions - the annual Christmas Concert (which is usually a sellout!).

A pianist dressed in an elegant gown, starts to play her beautiful recital of “Polonaise Fantaisie Op.61” by Fryderyck Chopin. As she begins, she notices that one of her pedals isn’t quite working the way she was expecting it to. Ever the professional, she tries to continue playing but finds that the pedal is taxing her music too much. She stops and explains to the crowd that she is having pedal issues and that she needs to ask for some help. After a short departure from the stage she returns and handles the situation with some of the best improvisation you'll ever see. Watch video in comments below 👇

How wonderful was the final of ‘The Piano’ (Channel 4) as was the whole inspiring series featuring four fabulous and different young people playing a real piano to great effect.
Thoroughly recommend this reality TV at its very best. 🎹
