After celebrating our 50th year in business in 2023, we now have another milestone occasion in the Cochrane family, Marlene and Ivan’s 60th Wedding Anniversary!💍

What an achievement especially for Marlene, who has had the patience of a saint and deserves a medal for putting up with Ivan all these years!🙌🏻

Well done Marlene, we don’t think there’s a medal big enough!🏅

Congratulations to you both and here’s to many more years of health and happiness.🎉

‼️ Important Notice – Academy at Shotton Hall and St Bede’s RC School‼️

We have been informed that quad bikes have vandalised the grassed area which has resulted in the footpaths being covered in mud either side of the road outside of Sweet Trap (Milco’s), Shotton Colliery.

Therefore can we please ask all pupils who travel on our coaches to Academy Shotton Hall and St Bede’s RC School to not stand in the mud and to wait at the bus stop on Friar Street.

We are running late on school contract runs this morning due to an accident which has closed the A19 Southbound between Peterlee and Castle Eden.

This has caused a back up of traffic on all other routes. We are doing our best to get through.

Thank you.

UPDATE 1435hrs - The Road is now re-opened in both directions.

UPDATE:

A man has sadly died following a road traffic collision on the A19 this morning.

Police were called to reports of a collision between a Land Rover and a wagon on the Northbound carriageway, near Castle Eden, just after 6.45am.

The driver of the Land Rover – a 42-year-old man - suffered serious injuries and despite the best efforts of the emergency services, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.

The road remains closed and drivers are asked to find an alternative route.

******

Due to an RTC, the A19 is closed Southbound between the Peterlee (B1320) and Castle Eden (A181) Junctions.
