Last month 3 Fearnhead’s slept rough to raise much needed funds for the BURTON UPON TRENT AND DISTRICT YMCA.

Michael Fearnhead, together with Cameron Fearnhead and Mini Marvel Harry Fearnhead slept in cardboard boxes to raise sponsorship for a cause which is very close to our Crew ♥️

YMCA Burton have just revealed the final figure raised, and it’s pretty amazing!

HOPING SANTA BRINGS A NEW📱THIS CHRISTMAS?

Then it’s worth remembering that new measures are set to be introduced by the government that will make prosecutions against drivers using handheld mobile phones at the wheel easier.

While texting or making a phone call (other than in an emergency) using a handheld device while driving is already illegal, laws set to be introduced next year will go further, banning drivers from activities such as filming, photographing, playing games or scrolling through playlists with their phones.

It’s worth noting that anyone caught using a phone while driving will face a £200 fixed penalty notice and SIX points on their licence.

Drivers WILL still be able to use devices ‘hands-free’ while driving, such as satnavs, if secured in a cradle… but they can still be charged with an offence if they are found not to be in control of their vehicle.

As you’d expect, The Highway Code will also be revised to explain the changes, and to provide precise detail around that fact that being stationary in traffic counts as driving… quite simply, using a phone while waiting at traffic lights or in motorway queues is illegal, except in very limited circumstances.

An exemption to the new law will cover drivers making contactless payments with their mobiles… think drive-through restaurants and road tolls for example.

Remember the three D’s…
Deadly
Driver
Distraction

The law needed to be brought into the 21st century, these changes will make it easier to prosecute people who are illegally using their phones at the wheel, and all road users need to be protected.

So if Santa brings a new phone, it should bring pleasure… not prison.

We’re ripping up the rule book and changing the world of work - because it’s time for something new. Born out of an initial frustration with ‘old school’ HR and unethical consultancy practices, Chrysalis Consulting was founded in 2014 by Kelly Swingler, the UK’s youngest HR Director, with the focus on putting people first and making a real difference.
