The Government has launched a consultation on the pathway to ending sales of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030 and ensuring all new cars and vans are zero emission by 2035.

They want to hear people’s views on the operation of the Vehicle Emissions Trading Schemes (VETS) Order, known as the ZEV Mandate, as part of their commitment to reviewing the VETS order by early 2027.

This is to ensure that the policy remains effective in delivering the transition to zero emissions vehicles (ZEVs), while supporting consumers, industry and the UK’s wider decarbonisation objectives.

We will be responding to the consultation and urge government to ensure that operators have regulatory certainty to help them plan their investments, and a viable pathway charting how end-of-sale dates are achieved.

We’re clear that any ZEV Mandate takes into account real-world market realities, including sufficient charging infrastructure in place.

You can respond to the consultation here: https://obi41.nl/2p8zjzhb

Seeks views on the zero emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate and its effectiveness in the UK.

The cost of doing business for logistics was raised with the new Prime Minister in the House of Commons today.

Rachel Taylor MP, Chair of the APPG for Road Freight and Logistics, highlighted the sector’s importance to regional growth and the impact that operating costs have on prices for consumers.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham acknowledged that business costs are too high and said the Government must show “serious intent” to bring them down. He also accepted Rachel’s invitation to meet small, family-owned logistics businesses in her constituency.
