From one coast to another...

10 times a year I make the trip from Ayrshire all the way down to the Isle of Wight to visit my parents. It's a 500-mile trek of ferries, trains, planes.

But it never gets old, and it's worth every single step ❤️

Book Tues 5 Jan to Fri 8 Jan for 10 consecutive days off

Easter Break (Book 4 days = 10 days off):
Book Mon 22 Mar to Thu 25 Mar for 10 consecutive days off

Early May Bank Holiday (Book 4 days = 9 days off):
Book Tues 4 May to Fri 7 May for 9 consecutive days off

Christmas 2027 & New Year (Book 3 days = 11 days off):
Book Weds 29 Dec to Fri 31 Dec for 11 consecutive days off

EasyJet... to book or not to book

EasyJet have released flights today allowing you to book up to Sat 26th September 2027 (and package holidays up to 31st October 2027)

With all demand-driven pricing, easyJet fares can go up and down.

If today's price is acceptable to you, go ahead & book.

Or you can check the chance of your flights dropping in price using a quick search on a site such as AirHint (link below).

Acadia Travel is all about being open, honest and planning unforgettable trips. I’m not incentivised by commission or contracts with big suppliers – I hate a hard sell! My job is to simply plan the perfect itinerary around your preferences, find the best way to book everything and pass the savings directly on to you.

To show what I mean, here is a complete breakdown of everything Mhairi & I paid for our 7-night Tuscany holiday (June 2026):

✈️ BA reward flights from EDI: £190 + 20k Avios
🏨 1 night B&B in Florence: £76
🏡 6 night Agriturismo B&B: £734
🚗 Car hire from the airport: £190 (7 days)
🍕 All food, meals out, drinks: £250
€ Euros for local spending: £80
⛽ Petrol: £40

Total spend: £1560
Per person: £780

The car hire could have been ~£50 cheaper for a manual car, but we wanted an automatic for the convenience of driving on Italian roads and through the hills.

We should all be a little more WILD!

I could listen to Simon Reeve all day. In a world of screens and constant 'pings', nothing beats the outdoors.

It doesn't have to be in far-off lands. Whether it's walking a local footpath we've only seen from the bus or trying a wild swim, it's reminded me to adventure outdoors more.

(now get off social media and put those boots on!)
