A few photos from today's rehearsal. Looking forward to the show opening tomorrow, when we will also publish a press release about our new military offering.

Any day you get to do doughnuts with a tank onboard has to be a good one. 👍👍

Anyone attending, pop down and come for a spin around the dock.

SUPPORTING UNDERWATER SURVEYS AT PADSTOW LIFEBOAT STATION

EDWARDS DIVING SERVICES LIMITED needed safety boat cover for their small Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV). Controlled by the team on shore they required us to be on hand if the USV encountered difficulties and needed to be recovered.

We provided our Coded Whaly 455R with a skipper that we launched from Padstow Harbour.

📸 Photo of the Whaly in all its glory, but in Barmouth. Other images of the USV surveying around Padstow.

LONDON CALLING: SCAFFFLOAT FACILITATES KEY CLIMATE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

A client we provided a protest pontoon for at the COP26 summit a few years ago came to us a few weeks ago and asked us to help with a campaign on the Thames.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) holds meetings at their offices on the banks of the Thames to discuss the reduction of greenhouse gas and emissions from ships, and our client wanted to raise awareness of the issue.

On very short notice, we mobilised a self-propelled 8m x 6.4m ScaffFloat with 2 x 100hp outboards at Greenwich and made the passage up the river to central London after the ScaffFloat was surveyed and licensed by the PLA. We supplied a very comprehensive set of RAMS covering the floating operations and how we would manage the various risks involved, including the windage from the banner and the potential risks associated with protesting.

On deck, we assembled an 8m x 3m scaffold A-Frame to display the banner.
With the police and PLA in attendance, we floated about with the banner for photographs before the winds increased and we returned to our berth and took the banner down.

Certainly not a straightforward job but a credit to the team and skipper for getting the job done safely.

UNDERSIDE JETTY ACCESS

Some more photos from a project we are doing for a client to undertake repairs and maintenance to the underside of a jetty on the East coast of England.

We have provided an 8m x 3m ScaffFloat with twin high thrust outboards to make the ScaffFloat maneuverable under the tight pile pattern. On the front we installed a small nose to give access to some hard to reach areas.

Again, demonstrating how well ScaffFloat works providing safe, stable floating access under piers and jetties and around piles.

FALMOUTH DOCKS WORKBOAT

ScaffFloat recently provided a versatile 8x4m self-propelled workboat, powered by twin 60hp high-thrust engines. With a 2-tonne payload and 0.8-tonne bollard pull. It was used by the port for moving fenders, towing, and ship positioning.

Great to hear from Luke Wills, Port Manager and Harbour Master, on how our tailored system supports their diverse port operations.

“Luke Wills, Port Manager and Harbour Master APCL A&P Group Limited, Falmouth said “Maintaining a busy commercial port such as Falmouth with the variety of vessel types and operations takes a wide range of craft. Our local supplier ‘ScaffFloat offer a unique system that can be tailored to the variety of operations we need to support our port operations here”

RIVER TEES - UNDER JETTY ACCESS

> Problem

Sub Aqua Diving Services Limited required a pontoon to access the underside of a jetty, on the River Tees, for inspection and routine maintenance.

> Solution

We mobilised a self-propelled 8m x 2.4m ScaffFloat with a single 60hp high-thrust outboard. Sub Aqua Diving Service provided a Whaly boat to support the ScaffFloat during its transit from the overnight mooring to the work site, as well as to assist the team on-site.

The dimensions of the ScaffFloat allowed for comfortable access and mobility between the jetty’s supporting piles. Positioning the ScaffFloat was achieved by pushing on with the outboard motor and tying off to the most suitable piles, as needed. A monkey tower was installed to enable the team to access the underside of the jetty as the tide dropped.
