Two modes of transport are my go-to in every city. Either an open-top bus tour where available, or in smaller cities I love to jump on a bike.

Yesterday we spent the day in AlmerΓa, a city we know quite well, and we still discovered more.

The whole city was built as a fortress, and the Alcazaba is the largest Moorish fortress in Spain, still dominating the skyline.

The cathedral is also one of a kind. It was built as a fortress as much as a church, with thick walls and corner towers to hold off pirate raids. It's truly beautiful.

And a fun fact. I also learned John Lennon wrote Strawberry Fields Forever while staying here in 1966. Every day's a schoolday, eh?

We had a great tootle around on the bikes, enjoyed the palm-lined seafront, ate proper tapas, and watched the world go by.

A brilliant spot for a city break, so if you fancy an autumn getaway, AlmerΓa should be on your radar.

Save this for your autumn shortlist, and tag whoever needs the nudge to book!

The people lying somewhere warm in the middle of a British winter are not luckier than you or richer than you - they are just three months ahead of you!

They are the people that had the conversation early. They didnt wait until work calms down. Or wait for a free weekend to pop up. Or wait until they had half a plan of their own before they contacted me.

You don't need a destination, a date, or a budget worked out to the last pound. You need one sentence. "Debbie, get me out of the grey." The rest is up to me.

So send it. That one sentence. Send it to my emails or DM and leave the rest to me. While it is on your mind.

Save this so future-you, three rainy Tuesdays from now, already knows who to call.

Yep. It's summer. Who wants to think about ski holidays right now? Crazy people?

Nah. Smart people!
Ski is a book-early game. If you want a chalet in the right spot, or the perfect ski-in ski-out hotel then you really do need to get ahead.

Finding the right resort is a skill. And last season I had a lot of clients asking for somwehere 'different' so I thought I'd share these ideas. Three quieter resorts, all beautiful, and all with incredible skiing.

Because ski holidays are about more than just a lovely hotel. You need to consider ability and confidence. And think about what else everyone wants from the holiday...some fun apres ski, or just super peace and quiet. Do you need lift passes, lessons, equipment...?

That's my job. You tell me who's going, what level you ski, and what you actually want from the week. And I will I find the resort that fits and handle everything for you.

So treat this as your nudge, and save this post for when you're ready to talk winter.

Planning a big celebration or a multi-generation family holiday? I empathise, pleasing everybody is a tough gig!

If you find a hotel to take a group booking then the chances are your rooms will be scattered across the property. Different floors, different blocks...you may as well be on holiday alone.

A villa does the opposite. Everyone under one roof, and if you choose wisely you have enough space so that nobody's living in anybody's pocket. The kids have room to roam, the grandparents get their peace, everyone is happy.

Milestone birthdays or anniversaries or a family holiday you keep meaning to organise - a villa is perfect. And it doesn't all have to be DIY, most larger villas offer a cook service, grocery shopping, boat hire...and I have even arranged a DJ for one client for their own pool party!

A conversation last week made me realise that there's a perception that some large, luxury villas are spendy. But if you break the cost down per head, you'd be surprised that it can often be a more cost effective way to take a special trip.

The catch: the best large villas get booked a year ahead, often more. So if there's a celebration on the horizon, it pays to plan early to be sure of getting the cream of the crop. I've already booked a few amazing properties for 2027, so think ahead for this kind of holiday.

Send this into the group chat, and let me find the perfect villa for your larger group.

I love that feeling. The one where you start planning a holiday and it's really exciting. But six hours of scrolling later a staycation is starting to look appealing.

The husband says "happy with anywhere you think is great," then hates every single thing you show him. For no real reason.

You find The One. Then you scroll Tripe Advisor (the missing e is not a typo) and Sue of Skegness informs you it rained one afternoon in Greece in July 2004. So. Better scrap Greece.

Next option: gorgeous, great price. Then you remember to add luggage and transfers and you're way, way, WAY over budget.

You finally crack it. And then find the dog kennels are full that week.

Back to square one.

Honestly, why do this to yourself? One quick call to me, then sit back while I do the legwork and find the perfect trip.

And if you fancy taking the credit, nobody needs to know I did a thing. It'll be our little secret.

Save this post for the next time Sue of Skegness ruins your plans!

Nine times out of ten, people have a secret wishlist. And they may not mention it to me, because they've already decided it is probably not be possible.

They'll talk about a 'sensible' trip they have in mind. And never mention the trip they lie awake thinking about. Reading the gap between the two ideas is one of the skills of my job.

If I have a nagging feeling you're settling, I'm going to dig...I never want to ignore that nag, because I know that if I can understand your true wishlist, I may be able to help.

This trip has been booked as a surprise...so I cannot mention any destination info. But I can guarantee that this is going to be the most epic, amazing birthday celebration when the surprise is revealed!

Drop me a message and let's see what's really possible and save this and follow along for more.
