Road freight can look simple. But assuming it is can quickly cause problems.

There are more moving parts than you might think, which means more opportunity for things to fall down.

A collection is missed because the supplier is not ready. The wrong vehicle turns up for the cargo. Customs paperwork is incomplete. A border delay pushes the delivery outside its agreed slot.

None of these issues are especially unusual, or necessarily a deal-breaker, but together they can quickly disrupt the wider operation.

That’s why good road freight is about more than moving something from A to B. It depends on someone taking responsibility for the whole movement, understanding the detail early and staying close enough to the job to deal with changes before they become delays.

At Allseas, that means coordinating suppliers, selecting the right vehicle, managing customs and documentation, and keeping a close eye on timings throughout the journey.

The team enjoyed a fantastic day at Newmarket Racecourses for this year's Allseas Summer Party 🎉

It was a great chance for colleagues from across the business to get together, enjoy the racing and celebrate another successful year.

Finished on a high with live performances from Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting for Girls 🎤✨

Big thanks to everyone who attended & helped make the day a success.

It's occasions like these that remind us of the fantastic people who make Allseas such a great place to work!

When a shipment is urgent, your first instinct is probably to look for the next available flight.

That makes sense, but departure time is only one of many things you need to consider. A flight that leaves sooner can still create problems if the route involved a difficult connection, limited handling support, customs delays or an onward delivery that has not been planned properly.

The right solution really depends on the cargo, the deadline, and where its heading once it lands. Sometimes a direct service might be worth waiting a little longer for, or a different airport might offer a more reliable final leg.
All to say, a good air freight decisions are made by looking at the complete movement.

At Allseas, we assess the detail around the shipment before recommending a route. The aim is to find the option most likely to work from collection through to final delivery, not just the next flight out.

From the Port of Southampton to challenging delivery sites in South Wales and Gloucestershire, this project required careful planning, specialist equipment and expert coordination at every stage.

Our team safely transported and installed 2 x 53-tonne transformers and ancillary cargo, managing everything from terminal handling and temporary storage through to final on-site placement using specialist modular trailers and 300te cranes.

Despite restricted access, steep inclines and tight site conditions, the project was completed safely, efficiently and without incident.

Whatever the challenge, Allseas can help support.

The UK-India Free Trade Agreement enters into force on 15 July – making it easier and more cost-effective for businesses to trade between the UK and India.

While reduced tariffs have attracted the headlines, the agreement is about much more than lower duties. It also brings simpler trade processes and creates new opportunities for businesses looking to grow in one of the world's fastest-growing markets.

To benefit from the agreement, businesses will need to ensure their goods qualify for preferential treatment through the correct commodity classification, Rules of Origin and customs documentation.
As UK-India trade continues to grow, having the right logistics partner will be just as important as understanding the new regulations.

With established operations in both the UK and India, Allseas can support every stage of your shipment – from freight forwarding and customs support to ensuring your cargo moves efficiently under the new agreement.

We’re delighted to announce that Allseas successfully passed our Cyber Essentials Plus certification.

This certification provides independent assurance that our systems and processes meet a high standard of protection against common cyber threats. It strengthens our cyber security framework, reinforces our commitment to protecting customer data, and supports the continued resilience of our business.

Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus has also been a key enabler in the development of our new Defence Logistics Vertical, allowing us to meet the stringent security requirements expected within this sector.

This area is being spearheaded by Carl Pointon, and the certification has allowed us to hit the ground running with defence and government-related clientele.

This milestone positions us strongly for future growth and highlights the collective effort across the business to maintain the highest operational and security standards.

Well done & thank you to everyone involved.
