***HAVE YOU GAVE YOUR ZAKATUL FITR? (FITRANA)!***
The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said, “The fasting of the month of ramadan will be hanging between earth and the heavens and it will not be raised up to the Divine Presence without paying the Zakat al-Fitr.”
Zakatul fitr (Fitrana) is the right of the poor upon the rich and the wealthy and it should be paid according to the advice of the Prophet Sallallahu Álaihi wasallam if your not rich and are on low income wages then you should pay equivalent to half a sa’ah (2.05kg) of wheat which is equivalent to £5 per family member, if you are earning a decent amount of income then according to your income and wealth you should either pay 1 sa’ah (4.1kg) of barley which is £8, raisins which is £20, or dates cheapest £20 and ajwa £40 per family member.
One should remember this life is a test from Allah, He Subhanahu Wata’aalaa is the All Seeing and the All Knowing.
So give your fitranah according to your wealth not the cheapest option, if we are going to spend hundreds on Eid on ourselves, on our children on our families in our homes then we need to be generous when we give Fitranah to the poor as it is right of the poor.
So don’t let all your good deeds and worship linger in between the heavens and the Earth just because you did not pay the small of fitranah, but instead allow all your good deeds be presented in one of the most blessed nights of the year- Laylatul Eid by giving your Fitranah GENEROUSLY with a big and open heart ❤️ in Sha Allah!
