Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough began construction in 1983 and the stretch nearest to where Peggy lived at the time was opened in 1986. Having seen pictures of the construction the impact this series of roads must have had on the city, and moving around the city, must have been huge.... I wonder how long after it opened Peggy had her first drive on them....

Nowadays it's much busier than the early pictures I've seen, so it took some going for Ade Brannan to get these pictures and have it look empty but damn they look cool 👌

Peggy was first registered in Northampton 58years ago yesterday, and has lived as far afield as London and Halifax. But, incredibly, she's spent approximately 45 of her years on the roads of Peterborough as a local. Much of that was basically in the same postcode, which is crazy to me. She just keeps coming back 😂

When I was lucky enough to get some stunning shots by Ade Brannan of her for the Classics World feature in May, there was only one place those pictures could be taken, it had to be what she clearly considers her home turf 😂
These pictures are at Queensgate, something Peggy probably witnesses the building of, had to avoid the road works for. She's currently doing much the same as we potter round, around 40 odd years later as the roundabout is redone.
Crazy how these coincidences happen.
