Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of lorries, including but not limited to engine diagnostics, brake systems, suspension, and transmission.
Inspection and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections of lorries to identify mechanical issues and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve faults.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all vehicles are maintained in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety checks and maintain accurate records.
Parts Management: Assist in the ordering, inventory, and management of parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labour hours.
Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, drivers, and the operations team to ensure the fleet is in optimal condition and ready for service.
Emergency Repairs: Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and industry practices to enhance skills and efficiency.

Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a lorry mechanic, preferably in a workshop environment.
Qualifications: Relevant industry qualifications preferred
Technical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Licences: A valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) driving licence is highly desirable.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions.
Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and overtime as required.

⭐️⭐️ WE ARE HIRING C+E HGV DRIVER ⭐️⭐️

As an HGV Driver (driving an artic) within our team, you will be an integral part of our operations, responsible for transporting aggregates and other goods to various destinations within East Anglia and possibly beyond, whilst adhering to road safety regulations and maintaining the highest level of professionalism. Your primary responsibility will involve day driving an artic flatbed lorry moving bagged aggregates, other building materials and food products (such as sugar beet), however, there may be some night work and weekend work required as determined by customer demand.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers' expectations are met by delivering their products safely and efficiently.

This role has a requirement to perform some 'nights out' and weekend activity on an ad-hoc basis, which would be agreed in advance.

Key Responsibilities:
· Safely operate and maintain company-provided HGV vehicles
· Load, transport, and unload goods in compliance with industry best practices
· Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries
· Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks accurately, including delivery tickets
· Look for opportunities to deliver efficiency in driving performance by reducing fuel consumption
· Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs
· Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager and other teams
· Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies
· Represent the company with professionalism and excellent customer service

Requirements:
· Valid HGV licence, including articulated lorries
· Proven experience as an HGV driver, with a clean driving record, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience preferred
· Strong adherence to safety protocols

As part of our ongoing expansion we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join BMD as an 8-wheel Tipper Driver. Successful applicants must hold a Category C driving licence, Digital Tachograph card & Drivers Qualification card.

Requirements:
• Be fully aware of the rules of the road and the regulations specified in the Highway Code & always abide by them & the Road Traffic Act 1988.
• Have sound knowledge of Road Transport Working Time Directive & Drivers Hours Regulations & abide by them.
• Complete & record comprehensive defect checks.
• Continuously check the roadworthiness of your vehicle by way of walkaround checks throughout the course of each shift and report any defects found.
• Always ensure that a load is secure in line with the vehicle safe system of work, before leaving site
• Adhere to site specific rules at all times.
• Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness-both interior & exterior.
• Contribute in your fullest capacity to the company delivering a best-in-class customer service to all our customers, including maintaining a good relationship with customers at all times.
