Workshop Lorry Mechanic

We are looking for a skilled Workshop Lorry Mechanic to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of lorries, including but not limited to engine diagnostics, brake systems, suspension, and transmission.
Inspection and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections of lorries to identify mechanical issues and use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve faults.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all vehicles are maintained in compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety checks and maintain accurate records.
Parts Management: Assist in the ordering, inventory, and management of parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labour hours.
Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics, drivers, and the operations team to ensure the fleet is in optimal condition and ready for service.
Emergency Repairs: Respond to breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimise vehicle downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest automotive technology and industry practices to enhance skills and efficiency.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lorry mechanic, preferably in a workshop environment.
Qualifications: Relevant industry qualifications preferred or working towards such qualifications.
Technical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Licences: A valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) driving licence is highly desirable.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions.
Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and overtime as required.
