It's that time of the week again - Azalea and Doris have been refloated following their week on the drydock.

Now it's time for work to begin on Whincroft and Dawn Piper.

Like last week, these two boats have come to us via the Manchester Ship Canal (and a few days prior, across the Mersey!).

Work is progressing well with this week’s dockings.

Both Azalea and Doris have now been fully washed down and have received two coats of epoxy on the sides and baseplates.

It always surprises us when people say baseplates don’t need painting because “it’ll just scrape off.” These two boats prove otherwise — both had immaculate baseplates despite plenty of cruising since their last dockings.

Our first dock turnaround of 2026, and a belated Happy New Year to everyone.

The Weaver is still accessible via the Manchester Ship Canal at Marsh Lock, which is less than a 2 hour cruise from Ellesmere Port on the Shropshire Union.

We are happy to help organise a ship canal passage for you if you need assistance. 🙂

Due to the continued closure of the Anderton Boat Lift, we have slots available on the drydock for August onwards.

This week we have narrowboats Jem and Grey Heron in for epoxy blacking on sides and baseplate. These 2 have travelled to us via the Manchester Ship Canal from Ellesmere Port and are returning to the canal next week.

We are happy to help organise and contribute financially to the Manchester Ship Canal passage for any customers wishing to travel that route to us. Call 07393 978654 or email us at [email protected].

Dutch Barge Bluw Anchor from Albert Dock, Liverpool and Trip boat Melody from Manchester River Cruises floating and ready to head back down river and onto the Ship Canal.

CRT have just announced the Anderton Boat Lift will be closed for the rest of the summer.

We'll be working through the bookings and call/email each of you over the coming days to work a plan on whether you can travel via the Manchester Ship Canal to make your docking or whether you'd prefer to rearrange.

We can assist with the Ship Canal booking process and help you with everything you need to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible.
