FBN here in force! Both headline and support acts on the Main Stage for the opening day of Electric Picnic are ours and I've just noticed 2 more FBN trailers behind the B Stage!

2024 is Electric Picnic's 20th anniversary. Originally started as a 1 day festival in 2004 where they hoped to sell maybe 15,000 tickets, within 3 years it had grown to the 3 days festival it is today and they're expecting 75,000 visitors by the end of this weekend making it Irelands biggest music and arts festival by quite some margin!

Kylie Minogue is closing the weekend on Sun night with appearances by Noah Kahan, Kodaline, Gerry Cinnamon, Raye, Calvin Harris and a whole host more to keep the punters entertained between now and then!

July on the top with June bottom left & May bottom right! It's fair to say I've had a decent summer!

It's good to have a few days off to recharge the batteries before the autumn season hots up although I could have done without the gardening challenge this afternoon! Removing an uncooperative bramble bush has ripped my forearms to shreds!

Well that's that...back in the UK and tipping kit back at the suppliers!

If any of you were wondering who I've been out with, it was Gary Clark Jnr. A fooking amazing guitarist from Houston, Texas! I'd never heard of him before they gave me the tour but now I'm a massive fan!

He's a thoroughly decent bloke too...proper family man! Brought his wife and kids on tour with him and his 3 sisters were his backing singers!

Many thanks to FBN, Brian, Rocky, Hailey, Bray, Stu, Slag, Taylor, the 2 Dan's and Cody for a very enjoyable tour! See you next time guys!

Morning folks! Not too much to say about this one other than the Long Lake Festival is a month long extravaganza of entertainment founded in 2011 and situated in Piazza di Riforma right in the heart of downtown Lugano. Although he's not the headline act tonight GCJ is certainly one of the bigger names for this year's festival!

Buongiorno ragazzi! Yet another festival to load into this morning, the last of our 4 shows in Italy before we head north and to hopefully the cooler climes of Switzerland!

This is a nice easy one for me compared to the last one in Gardone Riviera as this is a purpose built facility right in the heart of Rome! Loading out at Gardone was a complete ballache as I had to do the whole reverse again but this time in the dark and everyone there had their own and differing opinions as to how it should be achieved! We managed it though and, although it wasn't pretty to watch, no one died and the facility was left intact when I eventually left 2hrs after the man came off stage!

Parco della Musica in Rome was opened in 2002 and comprises of 3 indoor auditorium spaces of varying sizes with a central outdoor courtyard or "Cavea" in the classical Roman amphitheater style! It's apparently known locally as "The Beetles" or "The Blobs" due to the shape and arrangement of the 3 auditoriums!
In 2014, it had over two million visitors, making it the second-most-visited cultural music venue in the world, after The Lincoln Center in New York.

As you can imagine, you can't built anything in this part of the world without tripping over some ancient history and this was no exception...a massive Roman villa was discovered while digging out the foundations of this place which required detailed archaeological excavation before building works could proceed which is why it eventually took over 7 years to complete!

Morning folks! Well that was the hardest reverse with a full laden 40t artic I've ever had to do in 20 years of driving trucks...and I've had some right belters! All the way from the carpark at the bottom of the hill, through the bus parking area and blind sided into a narrow gate and up a steep slope into the side of the stage!! :-o Whoever thought of putting a venue at the top of a hill with nowhere to turn a truck round at either end...clearly wasn't thinking about venue access for anyone other than the punters!

Vittoriale degli Italiana, was the home of the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio from 1922 to his death 1938! It was never completed in his lifetime and then abandoned until 1952. D'Annunzio was a highly political figure and millions of lira were "donated" to this project by Rome to keep him distracted and away from the goings on of the fascist government of the time! Mussolini himself visited in 1925!

How do you know when I'm in Italy? Because the Polizia take an interest in me, that's how!! Last time I was here in June, I got tugged twice by the same Officer. This time I've only been in the country 5hrs and they already want to see my paperwork FFS!!
