🚗 New Driver NI 2026/27 – Preparing the Next Generation of Safer Drivers

Tipoday, Peter travelled to Omagh Academy to deliver the New Driver NI presentation to Year 13 students.

During the session, Peter explored the responsibilities young people take on as both drivers and passengers. Students considered how speeding, distraction, drink and drug driving, failing to wear a seat belt and other dangerous decisions can result in serious, life-changing collisions.

The presentation also explained Northern Ireland’s new Graduated Driving Licence system and what the changes will mean for learner and newly qualified drivers.

New Driver NI is about much more than passing a driving test. The programme helps young people recognise risks, make responsible decisions and develop safer habits before they take to the road independently.

We sincerely thank Fermanagh & Omagh PCSP for supporting this important initiative. Its support allows Year 13 and Year 14 students throughout the council area to receive a free copy of the 2026/27 New Driver magazine, packed with practical advice and useful information for new and aspiring drivers.
