Let’s keep the news coming shall we!!

We’re delighted to announce that Ewan Rosser has signed for the 2026/27 season.

Pontypool born and bred, the speedster joins on a permanent basis from the Dragons although he’s already well known having featured on 24 occasions for us scoring 9 tries in the process.

Ewan adds high quality and versatility to our back 3 - Head coach Tom Hancock is looking forward to having Ewan available for selection every week. He said ‘Ewan brings real quality to our squad and his speed, knowledge & experience of operating in a professional environment will be a major asset next season’

Ewan said ‘Pontypool is my hometown and I’ve always loved playing for this club. The fans, the people around it, and the history behind it make it a special place to be.

The club has played a massive part in my development and always looked after me. Every away game feels like a home game with the support we get, the fans are quality.

Everyone knows how historic this club is, and I’m proud to continue being part of it’

Proof that you can actually manifest Welsh blankets! Travelled all the way through Mid & North Wales popping in one shop on the way only to find this! Stunning king size vintage Welsh wool tapestry blanket in traditional Caernarfonshire portcullis design. Beautiful scarlet red, black as coal & white which is always a favourite as it's the colour of the national costume.

I'm gadding about on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey this weekend at our annual family gathering. Four generations of my little family staying in one house - glorious carnage! My lovely friend Delyn will be at the shop Friday & Saturday 9 til 4 aswell as being open Sunday from 10 til 4 for the independent Artisan Event. I'll be bringing this beautiful blanket in on Tuesday when I'm back but link in comment/story to see/buy it on my website

Just a little reminder for you about what's on in Abergavenny Market for the week ahead. We have our usual general markets on Tuesday 25th, Friday 28th & Saturday 1st (St David's Day) where you can find everything from a butchers, fruit n veg, sweets, rugs, sheepskins, dog beds, crystals, fairtrade items, framed prints, ceramics, cards, watches & clocks, clothing, crafts, baby knits, garden items & plants, fruit & veg, bric-a-brac, vinyl records, Rock memorabilia, clothing, jewellery to Welsh blankets & coats. Maybe you'll even spot a few Welsh Ladies in full costume this week?!!!

Of course we also have fabulous food & drink outlets to enjoy sitting in or on the hoof! Wednesday 26th is our weekly flea & antique market where you never know what you'll find! As an added bonus on Thursday we have a Farmer's Market & then our monthly Artisan Craft & Street Food Night Market with live entertainment. Wonderful atmosphere inside & out. It's nearly Flea Market Wednesday again! (12th February 2025)
Our eclectic mix of retro, antiques, collectables, craft and vintage items will be at our superb venue, Abergavenny Market tomorrow. Our in-house food eateries (Nosh and My food heaven as well as Cosy Cuppa) will be open to keep us all supplied with their usual varied selection of hot drinks and delicious snacks. There's plenty of seating in our hall and well-behaved dogs on leads are always welcomed. (There's water bowls down for them too.)
