portfolio of 17 airline partners, passengers can choose from over 80 direct destinations and more than 300 onward connections worldwide. The Airport employs over 600 people and contributes nearly £1bn in GVA to the regional economy. In 2025, Ryanair announced a further $300m investment at the Airport supporting over 850 local jobs, while easyJet’s new base opening in spring 2026 will support around 1,200 UK jobs, including 130 direct roles. The Airport provides an exceptional passenger experience; 99% of passengers transit through security in under 10 minutes, the service provided to passengers with disabilities is one of the best in the UK and in 2023 the Airport ranked in the top 3 in the UK for on-time performance. The Airport is committed to becoming Net Zero by the year 2035 and has been named as a 'sustainability sector leader'. The business has its own solar farm, that can provide 100% of its electricity on a sunny day, and 0% of the waste produced on site goes to landfill. In 2025, the Airport will celebrate its 90th anniversary.
