You may remember the little Owl-class boat we pulled in a while back.

Well, she’s been grit blasted, primed and is now getting her fresh paintwork — with sign writing next on the list.

Affectionately known around the workshop as “The Little Boat”, she’s really starting to come back to life.

Next on the hit list is the interior, which is getting a complete revamp too — new panelling, cupboards, upholstery and electrics will all be going in, giving her a fresh new lease of life inside.

And finally… after putting Gentle Persuasion in the water a few weeks ago, we’ve finally got round to showing her off!

Gentle Persuasion came to us in need of a complete makeover. She was sandblasted, epoxy primed, and finally given her new colour.

We think she’s turned out absolutely beautiful! 😍 She’s certainly had quite the transformation, and we’re really pleased with the finished result.

Lovely engineered oak flooring fitted to No. 46 today.

There’s a common misconception that solid oak is always the better choice, but in our experience, engineered oak flooring is far better suited to a boat environment.

Engineered oak is more dimensionally stable than solid timber, meaning it’s less prone to movement as temperature and humidity change throughout the seasons. On a boat, where the interior experiences these seasonal changes, that stability is a really important factor for us.

It’s also hard-wearing, practical and easy to maintain, while still giving you the beautiful, natural character of a premium oak floor.

For us, it’s the perfect combination of stability, durability and style — making engineered oak our go-to flooring for boats.

Gentle Persuasion looking lovely in the sunshine today ☀️

As well as the full repaint we removed the old windows and enlarged the openings to make way for these bespoke side hatches. Made and fitted by us, they’ve turned out absolutely beautiful.

No46 is moving along nicely after the spray foam insulation!

Panels trimmed and test-fitted, now stripped out ready for paint. While they’re been done, we’re cracking on with the first-fix wiring.

Spray foam time on our bespoke Knights Narrowboats No. 46!

After battening out the cabin, it was time to get the spray foam insulation applied then onto trimming it back.

A big step forward in the fit-out, meaning we can now move on to the 1st-fix electrics, followed by cutting and fitting the panelling.

Wiring day on our stock boat!

The foam is complete, wiring is underway and the panels are starting to go on — this boat is really taking shape! 🔧
