The architects of a wicked toxibilly sound, The Cramps boast a cultural impact that spawned a legion of devil cults and left in its wake a cavalcade of cave-stomping imitators. On their final studio album, the self-produced Fiends of Dope Island, these charm-school rejects apply their sinister handiwork to a volatile combination of incantational rock ’n’ roll hexes like “Big Black Witchcraft Rock” and “Papa Satan Sang Louie” and put their hoodlum warp on exotica standard “Taboo” before swerving and careening through the crypt-kickin’ blues rave-ups “Dopefiend Boogie” and “Wrong Way Ticket,” finishing with the musical equivalent of a 13-car pile-up.

Art-rock and soul inspired singer & songwriter WARBY is to finally release his much anticipated debut album ‘Mystic Powers’. That same day he will also play his first solo show. Having spent a lifetime encouraging others to tour and record, WARBY is steeped in music and live touring, has run indie labels, recorded with the group R.O.C, occasionally performing live; but has never released or performed any of his own songs before now.

WARBY called upon his friends Mal Troon (Jim Jones, Sea Power) on lead guitar and Patrick Nicholson (R.O.C, Mark Eitzel) on piano and and the tight rhythm section of Adam Betts (Pulp, Dave Gilmour) on drums and Dan Drury (Jarvis Cocker, James Taylor Quartet) on bass. Prior to recording, WARBY played James and the band a selection of songs to inspire them including Harry Nilsson, The Isley Brothers, Gene Clark and The Stylistics and together they recorded the 13 songs that make up the album.

Jawbreaker’s third studio album “24 Hour Revenge Therapy” is back in print!!! On new clear blue w/ red & yellow coloured vinyl!! Funky!!

One of the most popular and successful underground bands of the early- / mid-’90s, California’s Jawbreaker was comprised of Blake Schwarzenbach (guitar and vocals), Chris Bauermeister (bass) and Adam Pfahler (drums). The band melded raw vocals, a driving rhythm section and grinding guitar with complex song structures and literary lyrics, forging a distinctive style that has since, along with Schwarzenbach’s subsequent band Jets to Brazil, influenced a generation of independent music. By the end of 1993, Jawbreaker was in full stride. The band had completed a full US tour in the summer, played several shows that October with Nirvana, and was attracting significant major label attention. 24 Hour Revenge Therapy, released in early 1994, was Jawbreaker’s third album. After the more “progressive” Bivouac, the trio had returned to a straightforward, poppier sound, and the resulting full-length is widely regarded as their best. The bulk of the recording was done by noted independent producer Steve Albini.

Fifth solo album from Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Sultans, Hot Snakes, PLOSIVS, Night Marchers kingpin. Featuring Jason Kourkounis (Hot Snakes, Delta 72, Night Marchers) on drums as well as contributions from Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Obits) on guitar, Gar Wood (Hot Snakes, Tanner, Night Marchers) on bass, Joe Guevara (Jejune, Swami and the Bed Of Nails) on piano and keyboards and Rob Crow (Pinback, PLOSIVS) and Jacob Turnbloom (Mrs. Magician) on backing vocals. Taking musical cues from later period Wipers, the more low key Saints songs, early recordings of The Church as well as The Damned on their Black Album, Navajo White pits sentiment vs the unsentimental.

New Tyondai Braxton album “Splayed Werks” is out tomorrow!! Available on double black bio vinyl & CD.

Even at first blush, Tyondai Braxton’s new album, his first full-length release since the recording of his 2022 symphonic work, Telekinesis, reveals itself as unlike what came before and marks the beginning of a new chapter with UK label Erased Tapes. First off, there’s a lot more music here, 70+ minutes of pure electronics and sound design. Plus, it’s divided in a way that’s out-of-step with the longer forms the 47 year-old composer/producer has previously imagined into being. Of the album’s 15 tracks, more than two-thirds are sub-five minutes. It may be a perfect album for 2026, a time when the sonic landscape continues to fervently embrace increasingly radical hybrids, at once club soundsystem-ready, art-installation-leaning, and music-school-mediated. But also, importantly, intuitive and hand-crafted.
