Did you know?

Due to laws at the time, trucks were not allowed to exceed a certain length, but with customers not yet ready for a space‑saving cab-behind-engine design, Mercedes-Benz engineers created the L 322 series, where the engine pushed slightly into the cab. This allowed the trucks to remain compliant, whilst ensuring happy customers, so much so that this design, created in 1959, was still produced in some countries into the 1990s.

🚛⚡ A game-changer for F1 Logistics

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is set to become the first to run an electric truck across the full European season. Starting from Monaco through to Madrid, the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks UK eActros 600 will travel around 15,000km supporting operations across nine races.

With a 500km range and rapid charging, it proves long-haul electric transport is ready today — helping drive progress toward Net Zero by 2030.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK were delighted to be at the iconic Millbrook proving ground for the annual SMMT Test Day - with two vehicles available for journalists to test, as well as the Actros 400 on display.

The event showcased the latest machinery from across the motor industry, with the eActros 600 and the new Actros L ProCabin being taken through their paces around the Milbrook roads.

Always pushing forward ⚡️🏁

British Touring Car team, Racing, recently put the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 through its paces using a demo vehicle from Commercials - who also proudly sponsor the team.

The all-electric eActros 600 proved a strong contender for transporting race cars and equipment across the country, with up to at least 500km - and proven up to 700km - of range supporting everything from testing days to race events and beyond. Racing team came away seriously impressed with the truck.

With the British Tour Car team introducing 100% sustainable fuel last year as part of its drive towards greater efficiency, the shift towards electric trucks is a natural next step for teams looking to reduce their environmental impact.
