Well, who'd have thought the weather would have been as good on a Bank Holiday weekend!
We'd just thought we'd share a few photos taken yesterday – One climb to FL193 (19’000 ft) and lots above 10’000ft gave some pretty epic views of Northumberland.

Nice bank holiday weather saw Mark Hopkins off on his first solo flight & John Crossman converted on to the Astir. Meanwhile one of last year's crop of solo's - Freddy Catalano - celebrated his recent Silver distance by taking our Chief Flying Instructor on a +150km cross country flight in the club DG505.

Our Easter flying week saw around 30 visiting pilots from as far away as the South Coast join our own members for glider flights up to 14,000 feet and as far as Wetherby (& back - +250 miles flown).

It maybe almost the shortest day of the year but our gliders were busy with several flights up towards ten thousand feet.
