🏴‍☠️☠️ ARRRRRR! IT BE TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY! ☠️🏴‍☠️

All normal boating language has officially been banned for the day.

❌ “Could you pass me the windlass?”
✅ “HAND ME THE MIGHTY LOCK-TWISTIN’ IRON, YE SCURVY DOG!”

❌ “Shall we stop for lunch?”
✅ “DROP ANCHOR! THE CREW DEMANDS CHIPS!”

❌ “We appear to be slightly off course.”
✅ “WHO MOVED THE BLOOMIN’ TREASURE MAP?!”

Here at Fox Narrowboats, we’ll be spending the day sailing the terrifying high seas of the Middle Level, keeping a close eye out for pirates, sea monsters, rogue ducks and suspiciously well-dressed swans. 🦆🐉

Our narrowboats may not have cannons, sails or parrots… but they DO have kettles, comfy beds and excellent potential for shouting “ARRRRR!” at passing boats. 😂

So gather yer crew, hoist the Jolly Roger and prepare for adventure!

And if anyone asks where the treasure is buried…

We know nothing. 👀💰

🐶🚤 National Dog Day 🚤🐶

Today we're celebrating the real captains of the waterways – the dogs! From muddy paws and wind-blown ears on the front deck, to those all-important pub stop inspections, our canine companions certainly know how to enjoy a boating holiday.

We've welcomed hundreds of dogs aboard our hire fleet over the years, and they've come in all shapes and sizes. Some spend the day watching ducks, some take their role as chief squirrel spotter very seriously, and others seem to think the whole boat exists purely as a floating bed!

So, in honour of National Dog Day, we'd love to meet your furry first mates. Share a photo of your dog below and tell us:

Wildlife Wednesday 🦆

On the Middle Level, ducks really do come in all shapes, sizes and personalities!

From familiar mallards to fluffy-headed characters and more unusual visitors waddling along the bank, there’s always someone worth spotting while you’re out on the water.

Keep your eyes peeled on your next cruise, you never know who might be waiting to say hello. 👀
