🦋 Wildlife Wednesday 🦋

Meet the wonderfully fluffy Puss Moth. One of Britain’s most fascinating moths! 🤍

With its soft white body, black speckles, and silvery-grey wings, it’s easy to see why this species catches people’s attention.

But the real surprise is its caterpillar… 👀
The Puss Moth caterpillar is famous for its dramatic defence tactics. When threatened, it rears up, waves two tail-like whips, and can even sq**rt formic acid at predators to scare them away! Nature’s tiny dragon. 🐉

A few more fun facts:
✨ They’re mostly active at night and are attracted to lights.
✨ Their caterpillars feed mainly on willow and poplar trees.
✨ Despite their furry appearance, adult Puss Moths only live for a short time — just long enough to mate and lay eggs.
✨ Their fluffy bodies help them stay warm during cooler evenings.

Today we've been busy welcoming our fleet back home after another week of adventures on the waterways. As one crew returns with memories made, another is getting ready to set off and create their own! 🌿⚓

Our team is hard at work cleaning, checking, and preparing each boat to ensure they're ready for their next journey this afternoon.

We hope our guests have had a fantastic time aboard. Now it's time to send the fleet back out and let the next chapter begin! 😊
