Team Bike Classic Endurance team sponsored by Speed Couriers at the famous Bol D’or endurance race at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.

Qualifying for the race which is 2 hours at night in the dark and 2 hours tomorrow morning. Stephane produced his usual smooth as silk and fast pace putting us in 5th place. Excellent stuff even though the bike has a bad flat spot at 7,000rpm.

Then it’s Casey’s turn. A 16 year old who has never ridden here and he puts Team Bike on pole position 2.3 seconds quicker than second place and there’s several very fast bikes out there.

Quite frankly, absolutely bloody amazing, especially after the problems yesterday.

It all looks very promising but anything can happen in a 4 hour endurance race as we found out when the frame was snapped clean in two after a crash. Then of course there’s possible mechanical gremlins.

Fingers crossed for a good result but you just never know what’ll happen.

No matter what happens I’m absolutely over the moon to have seen such a result in qualifying. I had tears in my eyes. Roll on tonight.

It’s with great sadness that it was Pete Harrop’s funeral today (Pete 320) for the old hands who date back that far.

Crazy story at the funeral, he was into World War One history and whilst touring the Somme he found quite a few items.

When he got home he started washing all the mud off to discover one was a gr***de with the pin still in. WHe sticks it in his pocket and goes to the police station and declares he has an unexploded gr***de!

The copper sees it, had a fit, drops the shutters and locks Pete in reception.

Half an hour later the bomb disposal team turn up and take his gr***de away. Coppers give him a right bollocking.

RIP Pete.

Instead of sending out Christmas cards and gifts to customers at Christmas, Speed Couriers have donated the money to help the homeless in Manchester this Christmas.
