✈️AIRPORT UPDATE –EES SYSTEM✈️
I’ve travelled to Tenerife, Lisbon and Athens over the last 4 weeks, and one of the questions I’m being asked the most is about the new EES airport system and whether the queues are as bad as being reported.
From my personal experience… absolutely fine 😊
On arrival in Tenerife and Lisbon, passengers were required to complete fingerprint scans and eye/facial recognition as part of the new Entry/Exit System. Athens wasn’t using it during my visit.
Yes, there were queues, but they moved fairly quickly and the process itself only took a couple of minutes. Some airports definitely seem better organised than others, but overall the experience has been very smooth.
Coming home was also very straightforward, and honestly I’ve experienced none of the huge delays that have been mentioned in some reports.
As always with airports, allowing extra time is sensible, but based on my recent travels there’s definitely no need to panic ✈️☀️
