Spanish John The "Spanish John 2" was built in 2003 by Alexander Noble & Sons of Girvan to replace the infamous and capable "Spanish John 1".

Sitting at 20m long 6.5m wide, deck cargo can be up to 40 tons. Power comes from twin 230 hp Daewoo engines. Loading can be either via the 3.6m wide bow door ramp, or with a 18t per metre Palfinger hydraulic crane operated by radio remote control. Fuel delivery is a speciality of this boat. A fuel cargo of up to 26000 litres can be delivered at varying speeds whether a 5 litre can or a full bunker

load is required. She has proven to be capable and highly versatile for the many and varied tasks she has been utilised for. These include fish feed delivery; delivering building materials to remote islands; vehicles; livestock (cattle, sheep, horses, even took an alligator to Rum once); plant and diggers are regular cargos; sand and aggregates; council skip lorries with refuse and recycling skips; a floating platform for movie making; towing fish farm cages, barges etc; mooring work and general work boat duties.
