There is a seagull on the flat roof of the Co-op which is being very protective of its chicks. If you are walking through the lane between the Co-op and the Mission building, be aware that you may be dive bombed by an angry seagull!

If you noticed the Lochaber Mountain Rescue vehicle at the Marina yesterday, and wondered why, here's the reason. It was part of a big fundraising effort by two of their members, taking place this week.

The Public consultation event about ferry services locally is on TODAY in Mallaig and Morar Community Centre from 3-6pm.
Please go along and have your say.

There are a series of public events taking place next week, to give our communities the opportunity to comment on the ferry services and inform a community needs assessment for future services.
Please go along and make your voice heard, whether you are a regular ferry user, or have stopped using the ferry because of reliability issues, or are somewhere in between. Everyone's perspective is valid, and useful in informing future services.

Our AGM takes place a week today, on Friday 12th June. Everyone is welcome. We will give a short presentation on what's been happening over the last year, and plans for the future around the Harbour.

HM Coastguard's Ievoli Black has arrived ahead of the Mallaig RNLI lifeboat Gala Day tomorrow, and the Harbour is looking pretty busy!

We were out and about checking progress on the overnight ferry berth this afternoon, and were just in time to catch Inverlussa Marine Services Laurence Knight coming into the Outer Harbour

A reminder that the Mallaig RNLI lifeboat Pirate themed Gala day will take place this Saturday, 30th May.
If you would like to donate either some home baking for the tea stall, or some bottles for the bottle stall, they would be much appreciated.
They can be dropped off with us at the Harbour Office, or to the Lifeboat Station itself.

🕚 Kicking off at 11am on Mallaig Pier, we can't wait to see you there in your finest pirate costumes! No parrots required, but they are highly encouraged.

🍔 We'll have a cracking BBQ on the go as well as a pirate punch at the rum shack. There's plenty of activities for the kids and a prizes galore for those who take on the treasure hunt!

🌊 It's your chance to get up close with the lifeboat and help raise vital funds for saving lives at sea.

It was our pleasure to support senior pupils at Mallaig High School today, getting them to stop and think about the skills they have to put in a CV!

Today Mallaig HS senior pupils learned key skills for compiling their CVs. There was a fantastic discussion surrounding CV formats, tips for highlighting your expertise and personality on a CV or job application, and communicating effectively. Now that the Marina is back open, a wee reminder about waste...
We have a new recycling system locally. Paper and Cardboard go in the BLUE bin, cans, plastics and cartons in the GREEN Bin and non-recyclable waste in the silver (metal) bins.
