Finally, some mechanical love for TA239! 🚌🔧

A very busy and tiring, but productive, day today. Tasks included the removal and replacement of the front shock absorbers, replacement of the fuel and coolant filters, offside rear inner tyre change and repair of an air leak.

Getting TA239 ready for our trip to Brooklands next Sunday! 👍

🚌🎨 Following on from our last post, it’s more painting content — this time for the roof! 🎨🚌

Having now completed the offside of the roof and returned it to its period-correct London United colours, it really is starting to come together nicely!

The weather, especially for this time of year, has really been on our side and has allowed us to get a lot further than we could ever have imagined. 🌤️

For now, due to upcoming MOT prep work and outings, this may well be our last painting session of the year. 🔧📋🚌

There’s still plenty more to do, but we’re really pleased with how the bus is coming along. Every little job brings it one step closer to looking the part again!

🚌 A little update as work continues on TA239 in preparation for our Brooklands London Bus Museum trip in three weeks’ time! 🚌

Something that Tridents always seem to suffer badly from is rust and rot around the cab floors, particularly around the pedals. 🔧🛠️

I was therefore keen to get a coat of paint on the affected areas to help protect the metal and prevent it from becoming any rustier. 🖌️👍

While I was there, I also gave the seat base a coat of paint to tidy it up a little and make everything look much smarter. ✨

Another little job ticked off the list as we get the bus ready for its trip to Brooklands London Bus Museum! 🚌🏛️

Well, it’s been a little while since our last repaint update to say the least, thanks to a few issues with the paint supply. Thankfully, those problems have now been resolved, and we’re pleased to say that the repaint is back underway! 🎨🚌

With our appearance at Brooklands on the 18th of October fast approaching, the timing couldn’t be better. We’ll be working hard to get the bus looking its best and ready to make an appearance!

🚌 Phew… and that’s a wrap! 🎉

What a weekend it’s been! Our busiest weekend yet, with two events in one weekend — and what a cracking time we had! 😃

We kicked things off on Saturday at the Walmer Green event, before heading the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway Rally on Sunday
🚂.

Both events were incredibly busy and it was fantastic to see so many people taking an interest in TA239 and preserving our transport heritage. ❤️

TA239 covered over 250 miles this weekend and, once again, she didn’t miss a beat! 💪🚌 She even took on several motorway journeys without a fuss, which is giving us even more confidence to venture further afield in the future. 🛣️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, said hello, supported us, and helped make this weekend such a success. 🙌

Now it’s time for a well-earned rest for both the crew and TA239! 😴😂
Onwards to the next adventure! 🚌💨

🚌 Attention followers and bus enthusiasts! 🚌

THIS COMING SATURDAY 5th SEPTEMBER 10AM till 4PM

We’re pleased to announce that TA239 will be attending the Friends of the East Kent, Deal & Walmer Transport Festival! 🎉

This will be our second-to-last event of the year before the 2026 show season comes to an end, and we’re really looking forward to being part of the event.

TA239 will be participating in the free rides along Deal seafront, giving visitors the opportunity to experience this preserved vehicle in action once again. 🌊🚌

Following on from our last post, upon arriving at the storage site on Sunday, we were met with a flat offside front tyre.

Unfortunately, the valve had failed. After replacing the valve, it became clear there was more to the problem than first thought — the valve stem was also bent, meaning the new valve wasn’t sealing correctly.

Luckily, I had a spare tyre, so today it was swapped over and the tyre is now sorted. Another job completed in-house, without the need for an external tyre fitter. 💪🔧

Always good to be able to diagnose and resolve these little issues ourselves!
