It is national 2025 Carers Week, which has the theme Building Carer Friendly Communities to highlight the effect that carer-friendly communities can have in making a real and lasting difference to the lives of carers everywhere.
The week aims to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities.
It also aims to help people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access support.

Carers Week starts today Monday 8 June and is a chance to recognise and celebrate unpaid carers. A range of local events will take place across the borough, offering advice, practical support, wellbeing activities and opportunities to connect with others.

This week we are highlighting the charity for families with disabled children. They provide guidance and advice in a wealth of topics from benefits, education through to diagnosis and support for adult life.

We are Contact, the charity for families with disabled children. We support families, bring families together and help families take action for others.

We are expanding the current IAS team and are looking to recruit a part time adviser for 18.5 hours per week, during school term-time only.
