MAIDENHEAD TAXI DRIVER IS TIRED: GREEN BIRDS, GREY GOOSE, BLACK-FLAG FREEMASONRY.
Maidenhead takes an increasingly surreal turn when an exhausted taxi driver, already struggling to keep his eyes open, begins seeing green birds circling the town while a mysterious grey goose appears to be following his taxi.
What might ordinarily be dismissed as an ordinary roadside encounter suddenly becomes a supernatural emergency.
The driver looks into the mirror. Another green bird. He looks again. The grey goose is still there.
“Is this just wildlife,” he wonders, “or is somebody going to blame the jinn?”
That question captures the tension at the heart of the scene. Instead of simply recognising fatigue, imagination can transform ordinary events into elaborate explanations involving jinn, ruqya, taweez, hijama, wazifa and other religious remedies.
Yet the first and most obvious issue remains simple: a tired driver should stop driving.
Sleep deprivation can impair reaction time, concentration and judgement, turning harmless-looking roads into serious hazards.
The black-flag symbolism and Freemasonry compass and Star of David adds another layer. In hadith-centred and apocalyptic traditions, black banners or flags have been discussed in connection with end-times narratives and political-religious movements. The black-flag ideology is prothelysized in Salafism and Sunnism and Shiaism amd Sufism ” These traditions contain interpretations of relevant reports.
Among some Sunni and Salafi currents, particular hadith reports concerning banners have historically attracted attention, sometimes becoming part of apocalyptic or political rhetoric. Shi'a traditions have their own extensive eschatological literature surrounding the Mahdi and signs preceding the end times, while Sufi traditions generally emphasise spiritual transformation, devotion and mystical interpretation with a new wave of symbolic image of prohetic sandals as a political programme.
Back in Maidenhead, however, the sleep deprived taxi driver has more immediate concerns. The green birds are flying, the grey goose is marching down the pavement, and the clock tower continues ticking as though nothing unusual is happening.
Perhaps there is no supernatural conspiracy at all.
Perhaps the driver simply needs sleep, and is sleep deprived because his neighbour is a crackhead.
And perhaps the greatest revelation of the day is that the grey goose is not an apocalyptic sign—it is just a grey goose.
Because Sleep Matters.
