Some days everything just drops in to place.
Yesterday’s weather was perfect and finally Steve Cooke’s crew could enjoy a day on AMARETTO IV.

Anchor dropped and that signalled constant sport from the feisty Black Bream. The average size was very good and despite returning a large number the bulging fish box told its own story. Time for Bass!

Escorted by pods of Dolphin we set out for a wreck on the horizon. Once again the fish were found and before long discussions were taking place about how many were allowed and had we hit “the quota”.

The decision was taken to move back inshore to finish up on the reef and try for some Pollack. Result! Hard fighting Pollack hit the decks and to cap it all off we had Cuttlefish and Squid swinging in (carefully!) over the gunnels.

Amaretto IV is off to Dartmouth to fish the Tuna rich waters off of Start Point.

We are fishing four days (16,17.18 & 19 Sept). Only the 19th Sept remains available as the other three days have already been taken.

The whole boat and crew will be yours for the day. All rods,tackle and harnesses etc will be provided to allow you to target the Bluefins either trolling or top of the water popping.

Total cost £1000 for the day. Four anglers maximum.

Less than three weeks to go for the LYME REGIS POWER BOAT CLUB BASS BONANZA.

This will be an 8hr competition fished out of Lyme Regis for the LONGEST Bass. Competitors will need to provide a photograph of their longest Bass alongside a tape measure and their entry card and bring the photo to the “weigh in”.

An OPEN COMPETITION for both charter and private boats with an entry fee of £10 (100% payout).

Well what a day we had Saturday fishing the LYME REGIS PBC BREAM FESTIVAL!

Perfect weather and 8 boats with 30 competitors took to the high seas.

Fishing was superb on AMARETTO with the Welsh wizard ( Mike Rogers) and carpet John (Hansford) in particular getting among the fish from the very start.

Weigh in at the PBC was well attended and some great Bream came to the scales. Overall winner was James Thorburn fishing from his own boat with a splendid Black Bream of 3Ib 7ozs. Second place was shared between James’s partner Trixie and Welsh Mike Rogers (Amaretto IV) with Black Bream of 2Ib 12oz.

Next years date has already been set and will be SATURDAY 29th AUGUST. Hopefully it will be even bigger and better!

Our BLUEFIN BASS DAYS are proving very popular.

We are therefore taking advantage of a great forecast and running another this coming Friday (15th).

We'l be going offshore lure fishing for Bass but the Tuna gear will be at the ready (both trolling gear and popping rods).

All for just £100pp.

Another great day at sea yesterday!

Plenty of good Bass and nice to see couple of Pollack too. Also sited a couple of early Tuna arrivals.

Nice to have The Shore Hunter on board. Great guy and hopefully we’l be seeing some more of him.
